DS Lite - First look!

I had screen protectors on my original DS (either Hori or Keys Factory, I forget) and thought it was fine, until I removed them and was absolutely shocked at the difference.

Nintendo say in the US DS manual to not use screen protectors. They're right.

Use Hori's, I got mine from Play-Asia.com. I honestly can't feel any difference using them, had them on my chunky DS, too.

I bought this case to go with my white Lite.

Is it any good? It looks like a girls make up bag or something

Well you get good cases, bad cases.

Does it have room for games?
Is the DSL securely held in? How big is it?

I haven't actually received it yet, hence the guess. It was shipped from Play-Asia sometime last week, as the release was delayed.

I don't think it has room for any extras, though. I wouldn't imagine it to be held in by an elastic strap or anything, either. I'm reckoning that it's only slightly larger than the DSL. I'll let you know when it arrives, though, should be tomorrow or Tuesday.

It fits the DSL nicely, but there's barely any room for games. There's 3 pouches specifically for games. 2 can hold 2 DS games each and there's a GBA pouch which can fit 1 GBA game or 4 DS games.

So, long story short, can hold up to 8 DS games in the spaces provided.

Any space for say a usb charger cable or extra stylus'?

Stylus definitely, but USB charger? Hmm, possibly. There's around a 10mm gap at the front/rear face of the DS about 60-70mm long. If it can fit in there then yeah. Would probably sit on top as well but I'd be concerned about scratching.

I bought that and it fits the DS lite quite snugly, its made from leather and has quite a soft inside no worry about scratches.

No space for games though.

I have that one too (in black), but sadly it certainly isn't made of leather. It's cheap vinyl. If it was leather you'd be paying 4x that.

i got a leather psp venom case for my lite, its made of "high quality leather" - only cost 6.99 from hmv so cheap aswell.

The DS lite fits nicely into it and holds it well. Theres also 2 smallish elasticated pockets for games (without boxes) or accessories

The case arrived this morning. As Dazzla mentioned, there is space for 8 DS games in total. Appoligies for the poor picture quality.



Edit: You can fit a USB charge cable behing the Lite, where the case folds

My case came with my lite, its a hard style one with room for the Ds and game carts
