DS Lite - First look!

I've been checking ebay for a cheap one but no such luck, seem to be selling in the region of ?40 which is higher than i expected.

went into Game this morning and stuck the ?20 gift vouchers i've had for about 6 months on it

and traded in a ?20 GBA for ?30 store credit

Pre-ordered a black one

He didnt even check it - should of put gravel in the box and kept the GBA

I've already sold my old DS to get the new DS lite. In preperation I bought a USB power lead & the Hori DS Lite screen protectors.

The screen protectors are actually 2 different sizes (one smaller than the other). So the question is which one goes on what screen?
(am currently without a ds, and I seem to remember the 2 screens being the same size!)

From the japanese instructions inside it says,

The one with the red tab goes on the top screen the one with the white tab goes on the touch screen.

The hori protectors are fantastic they are non adhesive as they use a layer of silicone to make it cling to the screen. Since i installed mine the touch screen preformance has improved as im no longer afraid to press harder on games like ouendan.

Both protectors have two tabs which are identical
1 (RED) says Peel off this mask before application
2 (blue) says peel off this mask after application completed

This is identical on both screen protectors. The only difference is one protector is larger than the other. I haven't got a DS lite at the moment (although I'm sure it'll be obvious when I eventually get it). So, I'm still not sure if the large protector goes on the top screen or the small one!

hmm weird it looks like your screen protectors are different to mine. are you sure yours are the hori ones (with the cleaning cloth)??

These are the hori ones i got.


Basically the smaller one goes on the touch screen because the screen border has that raised bit of plastic.

The bigger one goes on the top screen & is bigger because the border to the screen is flush so the protector can cover that as well.

The protectors are sandwiched in between 2 layers of plastic, to apply you remove the bottom piece of plastic which exposes the cling layer then place on your screen.

Push out airbubbles then remove the top layer of plastic to expose your new protector.

Yes, it is the Hori ones I've got, the packaging is identical to your pic. (product code HDL-01 on a red stipe just above the bar code on the back). However, the wasn't a cleaning cloth in my pack! Interesting! Anyway, thanks for the info, much appreciated!!

Thats really weird mine has the HDL-01 code but i got a little yellow cleaning cloth in mine.

See on the front of the pack where the hole is to the bottom right, the yellow circle is the cleaning cloth showing through.

are there any stores/sites in the UK where I can get the hori protectors from? not seen them anywhere yet..

(preferably a store that takes more than paypal too, my paypal account is at it's limit and they want me to enter bank details to setup a direct debit, don't really want to do that)

I suspect there's a lot of fake Hori screens about on eBay. Got one, and not convinced by the packaging, compared to one from PlayAsia.
