Wow. You guys keep track of this stuff? I have no idea. I would guess around 30 to 40 games. A game has to be damn good for me to bother completing it if its lengthy but some really good games I've completed many times.

Only recording since Jan 2005, but I started listing games I finished. It started as only brandnew games, but I have been back to a few too. I update it everytime I complete a game now, its up to date as of this week.

No idea how many games ive completed, I know when I was a lad and didnt have the distractions of sex, social life and alchihol I was able to burn through games, i used to rent MD games from Global and have them completed by the time i returned them

Im going to say roughly ive completed about 40% of the games ive ever played for a major length of time.

And for those who don't believe there are 32 games even worth playing on N64, this is the list: 1080 Snowboarding, 64 de Hakken! Tamagotchi Minna de Tamagotchi World (got all Tamagotchi), Banjo-Kazooie, Blast Corps (not platinum medals), Bust-A-Move 2 Arcade Edition (beaten all modes and levels), Castlevania, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing (including hard/backwards mode), Fighters Destiny (done everything), Goldeneye, Hybrid Heaven, Killer Instinct Gold (all characters), Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart 64, Mischief Makers (full ending), Mystical Ninja starring Goemon, Operation WinBack, Paper Mario, Perfect Dark, Pilotwings 64, Puyo Puyo Sun 64 (all characters), Sin & Punishment: Successor to the Earth, Snowboard Kids, Starfox 64, Super Mario 64, Super Smash Brothers (all characters), Tetrisphere (all modes), Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Yoshi's Story
I have noticed Bangaioh is missing from the list. Completing that seperates the men from the boys. GET TO IT.

Back on topic around 40 games this gen, mostly GC titles.

Likewise, I've got absolutely no idea. I could hazard a guess but it's all going to be hazy around the 8-bit, 16-bit era.

That said, it was very rare to actually finish a game on the ZX Spectrum. Atic Atac, Sabre Wulf, Chuckie Egg, Manic Miner... did anybody ever actually *complete* these? Sod it I'm going to try to list 'em.

ZX Spectrum (just the linear games I have clear memories of finishing) -

            Batman the Movie
            Barbarian
            Robocop 2
            The Untouchables
            Ghost Hunters
            F117-A stealth fighter
            Castle Master
            Midnight Resistance
            Myth
            Hong Kong Phooey
            Strider

            Atari ST -

            Speedball 2
Cadaver (one of my finest moments, was before the days of net walkthroughs - and I was stuck for over a year!)
            The First Samurai
            Lure of the Temptress
Ishar: Legend of the Fortress (if that's what it was called)
            Another World
            Heimdall
            Megalomania
            Populous 2
            Rainbow Islands
            Llamatron
            James Pond: Robocod
            Thunderhawk
            Lemmings

            Playstation:

            Parappa
            Um Jammer Lammy
            Exhumed
            Metal Gear Solid
            Soul Blade
            Tekken 3
            Abe's Oddyssey
            Final Fantasy VI
            Final Fantasy VII
            Final Fantasy VIII
            Final Fantasy IX
            Suikoden
            Suikoden II
            G-Police
            Chocobo Racing...

there must be more.. thinking of PS2 titles now I realise this was a bad idea to even start! I'm going to estimate around 100, not counting games with no obvious end.

Wow, Lure of the Temptress! One of those games having an extra floppy drive came in handy for. Don't think I ever got to the end of it, the graphics were quality at the time though.

Oh, I'd say a good 150 or so. Most of them being on the 16-bit and 8-bit consoles. With each year games keep getting longer (and consequently ****ter) so I complete less and less of them.

Bring back games that you can complete in 30 mins I say. I like learning a game like the back of my hand and playing it over and over again just for the sake of it. Like listening to a good music CD. I don't listen to Pet Sounds once and think, right, that's that CD finished. Why do customers/developers have such a disposable attitude to gaming? Maybe if publishers spent more time on cutting a games down to its core elements instead of hiring farms of drones to create content we'd have games with more lasting appeal?

I didn't even get more than about halfway through, myself. Got stuck on a level with a light-brown background where I just couldn't work out how to get to the end before the time ran out.

[smug bastard]Took me two goes.[/smug bastard] I think I've posted before about that game, I swear it's difficulty is mostly psychological. I got through it without much trouble in a couple of days when I hadn't heard anything much about it.. When I tried it again after a couple of years of people saying how hard it was I couldn't get anywhere at all with it.

Time on the N64 one doesn't count for anything except the lack of a bonus. You can take as long as you like.

Ah - I'm playing the DC; everything seems to get really difficult when the time runs out.

The N64 one's better anyway. The DC one's been tweaked to be too easy.
