Ordering online from Tesco = bad idea; they're slow and there's no telling just how slow they'll be as they always claim they'll be shipping it Any Minute Now, even if it takes them a week or two to get stock.
Purchasing in the shop as you walk round Tesco, for less than it costs at Gameplay? Perfectly fine.

It's a step in the right direction though, especially if GAME of all places is starting to lower the prices. Personally I'd like it if the set retail price on 360 games was actually ?39, and first party title retail price was about ?35. This would still leave the cost of software that little bit more expensive in comparison to what those on the other side of the Atlantic pay (roughly the equivalent of ?35 for general games, and ?29 for first party), but nevertheless it would make things a damn sight more fair and appealing - at least to me.

Not to mention the various "bargains" that have appeared only for them to say it was a mistake and not honour itft:

easiest launch get ever, severely lacking in geeks and also amazingly handy for midnight gaming snackage.

Saying places like GAME need to buck up and compete is all good and well, but at the end of the day it isn't really possible to operate like tesco do, unless they turned into supermarkets themselves :P it was a similar thing with Music and DVDs but tbh this is really another thread.

There are plans - as far as online sales go at least - to curtail Jersey based establishments (like Tesco online) avoiding tax loopholes allowing them to sell products at prices cheaper than their competitors?. Although they might still be able to move and set up on Guernsey and still exploit it, but the aim is to try and impose a change in order to serve domestic mainland retailers more fairly. Whether any changes will be inside grumpy old Gordon?s red suitcase and be announced as soon as today however remains to be seen.
Bottom line really is that 360 games just shouldn?t cost as much as they do in the UK. Even over on the continent 360 games retail for a maximum of about 65euros which is around ?45.
