I'd never sell any gaming stuff. Only thing I would is my Xbox which I bought completely on a whim and never got into. But then again, I got no MS love.

I feel an attachment to everything else I own

I sold both my sets and its never really bothered me.

Whenever I come to sell stuff I leave it for 1 month and see if I ever actually play it in that time...if not then it goes up for sale.

Selling all my DC stuff was the hardest but i don't really regret it. I loved the games but realistically I just dont have enough spare time to play the new games I want let alone the old stuff...Selling Virtual On and the Twin Sticks was tough though... greatest peripheral EVER!

I go on the assumption that the buyer is going to play it all (at least for a while) and then it feels good that someone is actually getting something out of it.

Hand on heart I do miss my Neo Geo Pocket collection now and again...

I'm currently in the collecting phase where I'm selling a load of stuff I think is merely 'good' and buying stuff I've missed, including import DC games etc.

Its easy to get rid of stuff you dont particularly like but if you like samba and may play it one day I understand it being hard. But then again, its ?100 and so think of 3-4 new games you want have to find money for. I sold rez for Dreamcast even though I love it, cos I wanted 2 new Cube games. Don't really regret it, much :S.

I think my point is, sell it to buy something new.

If you're not going to play/use something enough to justify it taking up your space/money for the forseeable future, then simply get rid of it. Works for me.

Occasionaly, you might miss something and want it back...Well, just buy it back again if you do. I've done this several times with SNES, N64, DC, Saturn stuff etc. Nothing is impossible to replace unless it's something super-rare (which Samba isn't).

You only think that. If anything, the games I re-bought are in even better condition than the ones I sold off before. Plus, they were cheaper in most cases.
If you're looking to buy back a game that you already owned in the past, you can be more patient and wait for the right copy to show up since you've already played it and know what its like.

Kubrick, those words make a lot of sense. I think i just need it knocked into me.

I can't help but look at everyone's collections and compare mine to them. I just want to be in the same league as someone like you (which would never happen). But being 20 and a student...it's extremely tough to buy what i want. And i've also found that once you run out of money while at uni you're basically f-ed.. ...because it's so hard to make it back.

But i do have a nagging gf who is constantly on my back to sell some of my stuff...who knows, one day i might just give in. At the moment i am trying to streamline my collection big time, as i need the cash.

But as you know ( ) i don't like missing out on stuff. So i'm secretly saving for some more stuff, but it's extremely difficult now...

I've streamlined my 'collection' so much that it's not really a collection any more. I don't miss a single thing that I've sold either, because it was stuff that I had either played to death & finished with, or not played at all.

It works for me, but I can understand how people get attached to their gaming stuff.
