    Famous for fifteen minutes

    Howdy y'all,

So, I'd like to ask a favour - I'm doing a piece for the mag I'm working on now (not gamesTM... yes, I know) and need some input from people like yourselves. If you fancy getting your name in the mag, then all I need you to do is answer the following question:

"What's the worst thing someone's ever said to you on Xbox Live?"

Please keep swearing to a minimum and try to be funny if possible... just one or two sentences will do. Drop me an email at [email protected] or send me a PM, including your name and location, please - I can't use forum names. Sorry.

Heh, cool. I've two but I don't think they quite fit with what you're after

My fave of the two would be right after a particularly intense game of Crimson Skies, I won 30 - 0 (yep, that's thirty kills and zero deaths) in an all ace room. This was like the fourth or fifth time I'd won too. Post-match lobby, the scores are up and the chatter dies down. It's quiet... a random voice says:

"magic lord, you're not allowed to play any more"

He was serious, I was kicked from the lobby on re-entry

The other was some random bloke said, "You're the strangest person I have ever met on Xbox Live. Can I send you a friend request?!"

Proper LOLZ-style moments but I guess you had to be there?

Mine was playing DOA4 - there was a homeboy type from New York in the lobby - It was his first time on it.

Anyway, I'm playing against another guy whilst aforementioned homebody is spectating - He's on the phone to his buddy and it went something like :

"Homie - frikkin awesome dude - chic has goddamn pixie dust coming out of her ass - I gotta have me some of that pixie dust"

He was referring to Kasumi's various moves which involve the swirls of leaves but I lost that fight I was laughing so much. The accent etc made it much funnier than it sounds.

I am sure this will get backed up but I have a fantastic story about someone impersonating me on live and having the squeekiest voice the world has ever heard, hehehe, the lad was about 9 and somehow got my tag details (from my old console I believe) so he enjoyed being ME for a while before I changed tag (getting done this week)...

So not something that was said to me but for me, hehehe.

          Halo 2

Ended up on the same team as an black American. Anyway he just kept on shouting "We're cowboys baby, cmon", he then fires a couple of rounds form a magnum, jumps into the warthog, drives off and all I can here is "We're cowboys baby, cmon, woooo woooo , cowboys"

Like Yoshis made funnier because of the homeboy accent. I was pissing myself

did anyone ever have the pleasure of playing any halo games with the kids who just ran about singing all the time? that was great, at points i burst into song too...

the funniest thing i've ever heard was playing assault on zanzibar against americans (who else?) slowly but surely we were making our way into the base when someone on our team said something, immediately there was a "OMG THEY'RE BRITISH!" followed by a "GO BACK TO ENGLAND!". i had to stop playing a second as that just did not make sense...

there's loads of banter between teams, most of it hilarious but i can't remember it all sadly

I made my own contribution a while back when I was online playing Burnout Revenge on Xbox1 with Mardigan 8 - Mildly inebriated I decided that an impromtu round of Burnout karaoke (whereby I sang along to the EA Trax music) was in order.

I spent most of the race in a wall - But it was worth it for the reactions

"**** off, you ****ing **** ****" has to be the worst thing said to me ever, let alone Xbox live.

One time this homeboy screamed "How's it taste, mother****er?" after beating everyone in solo slayer on Halo 2, that made me laugh - I even got him to say it again.

Worst game ive ever had on live, was one of the first games i played, i was playing Wolfenstein and this deep south american sounding bloke was makeing a noise that was really un-human sounding like a pig squeeling then saying things along the lines of "Squeal like a pig boy."

To this day I'm not sure if he actualy had a pig with him or if he was just really good at animal impresions but it totaly freaked me out

It's only a small column, going on the side of another page... nothing major.

There's some stuff here I can definitely use - I just need REAL NAMES and locations. Can't use forum names. Sorry.

Hmmm, I guess I could mention the tirade of swearing and beatboxing that occur in many a halo match.

The stand out times have to the guy singing the James Bond theme throughout an entire Rainbow Six match and for a period the number of people declaring their love for me upon joining a server. I don't know what is with that, I'm a good looking guy, but adolesent male Americans are just not my thing.

I had a funny one playing far cry.
My brother hadn't played it before so he was camping a little, anyway he was laid on the side of a river near a bridge,we saw a target and I was like"go on line him up shoot him" so he starts lining up his shot and is just about to fire when someone jumps off the bridge into the water pumping hundreds of bullets into him screaming"I LOVE YOU,I LOVE YOU"!!

I've overheard some hilarious things, not on xbox live mind but on the PS2 (the Hardware beta had voice activated microphones so you overheard all sorts) - kids having arguments with their parents about playing too much were fairly common, one time a guy was on the phone talking about some crazy hooker in Paris?! I only got one side of the conversation there obviously but it was like WTF!?
