In the boardgame I've found people typically trade in the early stages but become reluctant to trade in the later stages - particularly with the person in the lead.

Yeah the AI players are like that, what frustrates me about the human players is they leave the trade screen too early instead of just rejecting your first offer and waiting to see what else you want.

AI on easy is insanely easy for trading, they'll accept anything even it it's obvious you're gonna screw them over
