I read that some guys had to wait a while to DL the Saints Row demo. It came down to me in less than an hour with an 8MB line. This was in the Nordic Region.

I wonder if the slowness in the UK is down to the MS servers, or maybe is actually the Broadband providers themselves?

Dunno - I just left it on in the background whilst I watched Top Gear, when I got back to it it was finished, via BT's 4Mb service so there were no d/l issues from here in Lincs.

If M$ are going to put up 1GB demos of games, they need to sort out those servers - after 30 mins on a 10MB connection I had got a whopping 3%.. :/

Mine took from 5PM to after 11PM to download the demo. I am on NTL 4MB.

I have a feeling some broadband is "Hubbed" where the bandwidth for users is actually shared at the suppliers switch. So if you have 20 people out of 200 using xbox live, then you will suffer.

I think this maybe the ISP's issue, not M$oft.

10mb line and I had it in about 20/25 minutes - downloaded it about 3pm yesterday.

Never had a problem with the 360 downloads they're always real quick.

I think I've only struggled once with downloads, and that was when it was super busy on Xbox live market place during the first couple of days of E3 week.

I do which I had some of you guys awesome super fast 8-10 MegaByte lines rather than my rather feable 4 Megabit one though

Funny thing though is I think it kinda puts some kind of speed cap on downloads because whilst Saints Row took under half an hour cloning clyde plodded along and took a good 4 minutes which isn't right given it's size - And I'd imagine a lot more people were dloading Saints Row !!

if you guys are having speed issues with live in evening hours, im guessing you are with NTL ? they throttle the live marketplace port in evening times, i have spoke to ntl and xbox live team about it. Microsoft know and tried talking to ntl but it never improved

See!!! I knew it was something like that. They offer a 10MB service don't they? I hear a lot of talk about problems playing online, and downloading in the evening from people with uber 10MB connections.

If what you say is true, then NTL are a bunch of gits. When you pay for Broadband you should get a PROMISE of minimum network throughput on their network. Out on the interweb it's out of their hands, but internally they should have invested in infrastructure that can cope.

                              Now for SF2 then!

Playing SF2 now. I forgot just how terrible the dpad on the Xbox pad is. People with arcade sticks are going to have an epic advantage.

Also, perhaps it's the dpad, or the passage of time, but the default difficulty is far from easy...!
