And Sonic Riders while only decent is a million times better that the pants fest that was Doube Dash .

Now you can call me a NCL basher all you want , But a Mario hater I'm not and the last good Mario game I played on a home system was Mario Kart 64 . So to me the Mario Team have just to much to prove as the Sonic Team
But there wasnt anything peticularly wrong with Luigis mansion!
Shadow was full of glitches, crap gameplay, bad framerate etc...

I really dont see what was that bad with double dash, I personally hate the 2 seater idea but it's still a fun game to play and the multiplayer is quite good.

the new wii sonic game looks good, its basically played 'on rails' where u control the speed and jump and stuff with lots of fancy camera work and it looks really nice, the impressions from E3 ahve been very positive

There was no gameplay in Luigi and it was rubbish.
Mario Double Dash features some of the worst coruse desgin I've seen (such a comedown after MK 64) and by far the worst ART I've seen from NCL . I really don't see how anybody could call them good games, becasue they aren't . BC racers onthe Mega CD was better than DD and that's saying a lot.

Also the Rayman Team have a lot to prove becasue Rayman III was utter tripe as well , again after such an amazing start in 3D

Off topic i suppose but i have to agree MKD was a huge let down and in comparasion to 64 it was dreadful, the reason? as TA said it was all down to design, courses were short, dull, had almost no shortcuts and were just too far straight foreward. I'm very much a Ninty fanboy myself but i have to agree with TA. Luigi's Mansion was great however despite being able to finish it in 4 hours, quality over quantity right?

Back to the point the 2d Sonics are easily the best, SA and SA2 were great but lacked that magic Mario 64 had.

I gave up going by reviews after the death of Mean Machines.
Driver III got good decent reviews despite it beeing a sh8t fest , shame goes for GBTG and more so Perfect Dark Zero
Make you own mind up, reviews prove nothing .

How people ratted Rayman III,PDZ I'll never (unless the reviewer was 3 years old )

Without good coruse desgin you don't get a good Racer. Mario DD had the worst coruse desgin ever to come out of NCL, much like its Art. I loved Mario Kart onthe Snes and more so the N64 (yes I liked that version more) Mario DD was nothing more than a massive letdown and pants

Well I wasnt overly impressed with them, the lack of decent shortcuts was annoying, most of them only accessible with a mushroom, or just to get some items but by doing so making you behind. There are some fun courses on there such as the simple Luigi circuit and yoshi circuit.

i agree with luigi's mansion, the gameplay was too shallow and repetitive and thus it bored me all too easily. Mario sunshine was very good but not great like you would expect a mario game to be, had a lot of bugs and like luigi's mansion became a bit too repetitive and at some parts didn't feel like a mario game, it did have its moments though and i'd happily play the game over again just for those bonus stages. Still it is far better than any sonic game post sonic adventure 1.

Double Dash was a let down but again it had some moments, DK mountain was quality, it pisses over sonic riders and is a better game than mario kart 64 which i thought is the worst mario kart game so far. In the end i did feel since the GC nintendo lost a bit of magic, and i never keep my negative feelings towards the GC quiet on these boards, but after such a positive E3 i do feel nintendo is starting to get back on form (hopefully)

Sonic 2D or 3D? Honestly I couldn't care as long as they were good games. I actually quite enjoyed the first Sonic Adventure. But whether 3D (SA2, Heroes) or 2D (Sonic Advance 2, Sonic Rush), I think Sonic has been beaten into the ground with a magic stick of pox. I don't think Sega knows what to do with him. I think they want to make other games really but can't bring themselves to drop him.

If they ever find a development team who understand what worked in the first three Sonic games, I'll be a happy man.

Edit: Oh, and far be it from me to derail an off-topic discussion. I think, even with Nintendo's failures, they totally understand the value of Mario, what made the games work and just how much being true to that it worth in nostalgia value alone. I think part of the reason they avoided doing a true sequel for so long was because of exactly that - they knew just how high they had to reach to live up to the originals. So putting Peach or Luigi or Yoshi was a way of making games without that pressure. In ways that to me shows more respect for the classics than Sega does with Sonic. They know the value of the games and their content as much as Mario as a masoct. Sega keep Sonic as a mascot and have dropped everything else that made up the whole Sonic package.

I watched that new Sonic trailer on market place and my jaw dropped.

Then I saw that princess and my jaw returned to it's initial position.

Then there was Shadow in a tank and I knew there's no hope.

It'll sell a few copies, sure, but to me Sonic died on the Megadrive, was resurrected a while later on the Neogeo Pocket, and then died again.

I'm OK with Sonic Advance, and Rush is alright, but I like the old sprites and the look of the MD games

As for 3D, like others on here, SA1 was the one for me. OK the adventuring was a bit cack, and SA2 is more arcadey, but I'd rather not dig for emeralds listening to some dodgy rap songs thanks. I also like the look of SA1.

I didn't like Sonic CD as it was a bit too big. I think Sonic shouldn't try to be like Mario - back in the MD days he was the Antimario, after all.
