You dont need both for every game, for example if you want and extra controller for Wii sports you just buy the Wiimote as the nunchuck isnt needed

Internet Channel discussed - downloaded with Wii points - once downloaded it can be accessed immediately

Reggie again with some more channels,
like weather reports and news headlines (which are updated nonstop through WiiConnect 24 so you can read them anytime).
A messaging service is also in place, letting you send messages to other users on the Wii or even to their cell phones (though Reggie didn't say exactly how this will work).
                Finally, there's the Internet channel,
which is basically just the Opera browser--which you'll need to cash in Wii points to purchase.
But the Wii remote does seem uniquely suited to surfing the Web on your couch.

Reggie emphasizes the positioning of the Wii Channels interface for the casual, mainstream user.
Makes a point of saying the point that the Channels interface will come up immediately, with no lengthy boot-up process to get in the way.

^ optimised software are we listening Microsoft and Sony ???

I wonder if the US will be getting Hajimete no Wii (my first Wii). It's on the JP launch list and looks like another nice mini game compilation.

Wings Island looks good too. Looks as close as we're going to get to a next-gen Pilotwings.

And did anyone catch the Panzer Dragoon style bit in Twilight Princess? Pretty pretty.

You're paying for the privilege of getting it two months before the massive overflow. Mastercard would call that 'priceless'. There is never enough of the good stuff on a launch day, and Lik Sang is required to pay premium pricing to get earlybird stock in sufficient levels for everybody. We can only extend these offers to you during the first couple of months, while waiting for the market to stabilize.

They are ready for the moneygrabbing markups :/
