    PSP...which ports would you like?

You know that with almost identical power to the PS1, we're going to have lots of ports thrown our way.

So which ones are you going to be aching for?

Myself, I hope these come out, as strange as it may seem, the handheld is the RPG platform of choice for me.

Final Fantasy Y (couldn't use X for obvious reasons...read: any of them)
    Chrono Cross
    Xenogears
    Brave Fencer Musashiden
    Castlevania: SOTN
Tomb Raider 1 (maybe 2, definately no others)
    Resident Evil 1-3
Gran Turismo 2 (/me drools at the prospect)
    Ridge Racer Series

    Any more?

    Xenogears
    Ridge Racer Type 4
    Final Tantasy Tactics
    Final Fantasy 7
    Kaze No Klonoa
Bust a Move (dance and rhythm) - just cos the 1st one would be HEAVY to play on the train to work!

Final Fantasy VII, with link play - battles and maybe some objectives to get rare materia etc... So, not really a port, but an update

FFVII with better loading times for battles. More Materia (unless it unbalances the rest). More Weapons (the big monsters, not items). An updated Limit system.

I've got this really cool Idea:

You have One Materia slot for limit. It could sit next to the normal limits. What you do is place a materia there. The Materia placed there would them be used with your limit break.

EG. If you have a limit then you'll attack kind of like Clouds final limit break. But if you have fire in your slot, then you'll do one normal attack, and another swipe with your sword, but it will have flames comming off it. wich would mean you do two attacks in all.

After a while and the materia levels and is 'saved' to your sword. This means that you can remove the materia and replace it with another eg; Ice. Then, you'll do three attacks with your limit break. One normal, one with fire on your sword, and one with Ice involved.

This adds a new level to the limit system. Becuase as you know there is Fire 1, 2, 3, and Ice 1, 2, 3 etc. If you level up your materia in the limit slot up to Fire 3 for example, the attack will be much more powerful than if you had fire 1. But if you were fighting a Fire boss then it would do no damage. So you'll be torn, whether to keep leveling one materia up to have one strong attack, or two have several weaker materias like fire 1, ice 1, quake 1 etc...

I think that it could be a very good Idea, and if you imagine the fight with Sephiroth at the end. When your level meter goes up. You'd automatically have all the materia level ups, so you'd attack some 30 times and you'd have huge meteors crashing around sephiroth, and tornados and earthquakes rattling the floor. It would be like the world was falling apart.

        ----

Sorry to go on like that, but I'd love an update of the FFVII Game!

            Aye, that would rock

Weren't Square supposed to be updating FFVII for the PS2? I heard that a while back, and nothing since.

Anyway, I would love the PS1's version of Doom, with link play. If it has a decent screen, then that would rock, as IMO it's the most superior version (damn them babies crying in the background man!! Better than the PC's twee MIDI tunes). I played Doom on the GP32, and that was awesome, so much better than the GBA version.

The materia would take longer to level up, as well. and you'd have to put thought into which materia you used... it'd have much more skill involved than the current limit for cloud.

I thought about it kind of like FFVIII style tap R when you hit kind of thing. But to be honest I don't think that would work as well. I believe that it would be best if your time invested in the limit break materia was instantly rewarded instead of a hit-and-miss on top of that.

And they could bring it into the story too. All the characters have different limits. But cloud could only have one, like above from his years with ShinRa and all... From the Mako or something... maybe I don't know.

I just think it would be damn cool!

I'd really hope that they'd have some kind of link. I've heard of the USB link up to the PS2, but to link up the PSPs would also be important.

Multiplay on the move sounds great

A port of Final Fantasy Tactics would be grand. And as above, a Final Fantasy VII remake would be excellent too. Also, Tactics Ogre, like Final Fantasy Tactics in the strategy hybrid, would suit for gaming on the move :P.

Yeah, multiplayer is the strongest thing about handhelds. The hours I've wasted with my GBA...

Gotta be some fighting games in there too, Soul Edge, Sf Alpha series, Tekken 3 etc

The Discworld games would also be ace on a handheld
