That's bizarre. I always check the GC section to see if I can get a cheap Prime 2 and have never once found it cheap. I don't have a GameStation close but plenty of HMVs so I'll check there next time I'm in.

Exactly the opposite. It was actually cheaper at the time I bought my cube to import it from half-way around the world than it was to buy a PAL version.
The games are also cheaper to import from videgames+, play-asia etc, available earlier and are not missing sections, funtions or display options.
In the past with the SNES and N64 this was the case (for me anyway..?70 SF2 What was I thinking?) but you are so far wide of the mark on this one I felt I had to respond as others have in my defence for which I am grateful.

yeah I started on a PAL Cube and by the time Mario Sunshine got its US release I was already NTSC'd up. Annoyingly I was with the PAL cube for it's worst period. but having both PAL and NTSC (switched) Cubes considering the low price was perfectly viable so I got the best of both worlds

I'm slowly changing my fave PAL versions of games to NTSC ones though (nicely I'm generally making money from it as NTSC versions are cheaper hehe) but it means I get Prog Scan on my games for when I get a TV capable of displaying it.
