To whoever was asking about spectating in quarter matches...

If you enter the match while a fight is in progress it wont let you spectate until after that match completes, then it will take you from the basic 4 player view screen into the spectator screen before the next match starts.

I personally havent managed to get into any ranked or player matches all evening. It either says Timed Out or in custom match is instantly flicks to being Unable To Join... quarter matches though have been ok.

The spectating in quarter matches were good fun, its nearly as much fun watching than it is playing... but they should of added a tournament mode or something.

just create a ranked match. people will join instantly. its how i do it, although to be fair i can never perform a dragon punch when i want to like normally do. the dpad is bloody terrible, anyone have any 360 pad recommendations?

In the sf2 thread from the Headlines sections someone posted a pad they used. I am too lazy to link to it though.

Just had some fan-bleeding-tastic Ryu Vs Ken matches online, right down to the wire every time!

Best nostalgia purchase ever... it's like being 15 all over again!

Been playing this tonight for the first time.

Ok, so obviously the pad is awful to play with, that's expected, so I've been playing more with charge-style characters instead and it's been quite fun. Single-crediting this will be too hard for me on a 360 pad, it's just not designed for 2D. Arcade and SFC still the platform of choice for the hardcore 1 player, then.

Less forgiving is the lag between button presses and the on-screen action. The FPS were pretty solid and only dropped 1 or 2 times for the hour I was playing. However, this doesn't really feel like Turbo as we know - it's slightly slower and the sprites were too bright on a HD screen (anyone else notice this?).

Still, the people who I played with (when not understandably moaning about blisters and failed quarter-circles) were good chaps and we had some funny banter - it almost felt like 1993 again, but instead of depressed/sticky buttons and broken sticks, we've got the Xbox360 pad to contend with That and loading times, bloody loading times, internet connections and ping rates. *sigh*.

            SFII Turbo SFC, anyone?

I did it on 7 stars... some people are now preparing me a nice coffin and a lovely reeth in the shape of Zangief for me

                  This pad?

Yeah I got this and it works well, however.. I can use the default 360 pad with no probs too, so...

weird that. vixen is the same, i dont know maybe its because im so use to the old types of d-pad of the psx or saturn. with them i can pull off anymore i want instantaneously in a battle, but with this 360 pad it always ends up just being a regular punch or kick.

It is indeed weird, as me and my mate play Anniversary Edition loads on PS2 also, but when he tried this on the 360 pad today, he had a hard time pulling off a dragon punch at all, yet I was fine.

You're not alone, Zero9X, i'm finding the 360 d-pad to be bloody awful.

I can pull off specials all day when not under much pressure, but when it comes to those instant dragon punches and spinning piledrivers 50% of the time my guy either does nothing or punches thin air. The d-pad doesn't lend itself well to fast movement it seems.

Tell me, was the game really always this hard? I've seen little difference between 1 and 7 stars so far, the AI loves to spam the **** out of projectile characters.

I mean, Ryu is a beast on 1 star.

I'm not having too much fun with this. 1-up is cool, but I'm too used to newer fighters so I'm nowhere near as good as I was back in t'day. Online sucks for me. I think I've only played in one almost lag free game. All the E-Honda idiots are annoying too, and I've started reporting each one for bad play. I shall stick at it though. Proper old skool.
                            Kept you waiting, huh?

Yes I'm having trouble seeing the difference between Ryu on one star and Ryu on 7. Also good to see Blanka is still a cheating Wanka.
