Burnout Revenge i'd say. It's various SP modes are great fun and it's even better on live. Sure it's not next gen graphics, but it's a great game regardless.

Personally I have to say PGR3 is the best racer I've played in a while, play online with people who want to race seriously rather than jus ram into corners etc and you can have some incredibly tight racing. Also an incredibly moody game when you start using you own soundtracks rather than the stuff on the game disc. I have to say I love it more now than I did 3 months ago.

Ridge Racer 6 is great for a blast through, but ultimately seems a bit empty to me.

Well, RR started out in the Arcades and was of course wheel driven. Then it came to the PS1 and supported the NeGcon, so again analogue. Although it's one of the few racing games that actually work with digital input, I prefer the fine tuning with an analogue device.

Although I'm tempted to wait for the MS wheel to be released and then dive into it.
You can download a playable RR6 demo from the USA marketplace to try first if you like - will give you a good idea whether you'll like it or not.

The best racer on 360 isn't out yet unfortunately - It'll be Forza2 for sure - In fact, I don't imagine there'll be anything to touch that for a few years after (except maybe GTR ?)

RR6 could be a winner, if I get the USA version to play on a UK console will I have any issues playing on live?
Later releases of RR6 (ie any that you buy new now) won't be region free, its only the first batch that was.

Everyone reccomends ridge racer but half of you only played it for the week it came out then didn't touch it again.

                  It has that effect

I still play it every 2 or 3 days, and bought it at launch.

ONLY THE FIRST BATCH WAS REGION-FREE

Ridge Racer 6 is my vote. I read the media reviews and was put off a little, then one weekend when I couldnt find anything else worth gettting I thought I'd try it. It ended up been my fave 360 game to date.
