it was better at texturing due to more VRAM, the PS2 however could render more polys , so tbh the PS2 does have the edge, however the architechture meant it was far easier to get better results quicker out of the DC. But could the DC do MGS2 or GT3 at 60fps? I highly doubt it (and I'm a big DC fanboy :P)

It does seem to be texturing that makes a game age slower though, I put Sonic Adventure 2 on the other day, and it still looks amazing, and has aged far slower than most PS2 games which had alot more polygons in them but the textures were no where near as crisp or vibrant.

I dont think it had the chance to really show what it could do, same with the GC.

Did GT3 run at 60fps ? it didnt look like it (must admit to not rally playing it)

thats true, I mean Melbourne House reckoned they could have pushed Le Mans 24 (argued to be the systems most demmanding game apparantly requiring approx 4.5m polygons per second in parts from a system supposedly only capable of 3m) at 60fps as opposed to 30fps with no loss of detail had they had the oppertunity to, that would have meant a theoretical max output of 9m polys per second.

In my honest opinion, the system that has been done the least justice this generation is the Xbox though, I'm sure that machine could have been capable of far more than we've seen from it had it not been home to primarily PC and PS2 ports.
