I feel pretty left out at last nights (overly geeky and somewhat pathetic) excitement after last checking the thread at around 6:20pm. It's ok though - I'll be better off for it with the inclusion of a mini-holiday and hopefully another 3-in-a-bed sesh with some random american birds.

I just hope the EB store on Manhatten Island will accept over the phone pre-orders.

Where is the 40,000 coming from ? If it's the order number thing, that is just the order number of total orders ever placed on the site and not a place in queue for a wii.

I got an email from him but i was out on the drink when i got back orders had been up for a while already.

My "order update" e-mails have come through today which moves the status to 'pre-order processing'. Hopefully that's a good thing.

tbh it's better for you that they took the orders down, better that than taking your order and not being able to fulfill it, at least now you can look for alternatives.

Actually, he did. The email I got was a reply to mine with the same text that Rossco posted but with my original "hey, guys, when are you taking Wii pre-orders? k, thxs, Stroller" quoted underneath. So it looks to me like VG+ just saved in one folder all the emails he got from people asking about the Wii pre-orders and then went through them clicking reply & paste.

I guess with an allocation of only a (few?) hundred consoles it'd be pointless mailing everyone on their customer list - at least this way those who made the specific request were informed, although I guess I'd be pissed if I'd missed out, too.

I think the reference was to a user called Lyris who seems to have exchanged some emails with VG+.

I've been holding of ordering one, as I was hoping to get one from a supplier at the store I work for. Now I'm not to sure they'll be able to get me one

So I finally got in contact with one of the stores import suppliers today, the one I was hoping to buy a wii from, to find out they are no longer trading. So much for my chances of a launch machine.

And yes I know quoting myself is a little strange
