US Wii: Preorder Details Thread

I've not got anything to be jealous about. I just don't want to rely on reading things 2nd hand that may have been posted deep down in this thread. Maybe we should start a sticky with the pertinent info? I agree it is pointless us all asking VG+ the same questions.

A question for anyone with any experience of ordering hardware from VG+: how long does it normally take hardware to arrive? If we assume they ship out our orders on 20th November, those who get a launch allocation, when would we receive them?

Well they shipped my PSP on Monday March 28th 2005, and it came out on Friday the 24th.

And I would have received tha 2 or 3 days later. So receiving it the week after launch should be a given.

It's proper bo expedited DHL, so if they do ship on the 20th we should have it on the 23rd (maybe).

I'll be at Work when (if) my Wii turns up at my door. Where do DHL take the parcels to if your not in?

I've had DHL take 2 days from the US before. So I'd say the 22nd/23rd is a good bet if they get them out of the door on the Monday

A couple of the games I added to my cart during last night's madness got lost in my final order, so I made a new order for them and asked VG+ to merge the orders. They said that wasn't neccessary as they would just ship them together anyway.

That's slightly disappointing to hear, I ordered Red Steel, Excite Truck and Metal Slug separately from the machine and Zelda to reduce the possible customs hit

I got an email at 7pm from Sidney, but I was at work anyway, but still got home in time to grab one. There was no official newsletter about it, just a personal email if you requested one.

It's rite - will be picking one up in person at a midnight launch. Much more trustworthy than ordering from the same place as a zillion other ****ers. Plus, mine will be being played whilst all yours are getting kicked around by airport staff.

I feel pretty left out at last nights (overly geeky and somewhat pathetic) excitement after last checking the thread at around 6:20pm. It's ok though - I'll be better off for it with the inclusion of a mini-holiday and hopefully another 3-in-a-bed sesh with some random american birds.

I just hope the EB store on Manhatten Island will accept over the phone pre-orders.
