UK Wii pre-orders Thread

My Wii turned up from Amazon yesterday

Even though I had specified Super Saver delivery and wasn't expecting it til next week!

I would have been gutted if I had paid extra for first class to achieve the same result.

argos came through for me too, not that i need it anymore

just want component cables not starting zelda till i get them. are shops going to have them?

The Mad Catz one seems to be more available than the Ninty one, but that's not saying much really. It doesn't look like there's going to be loads out straight away, so I'd try and pre-order one locally if possible. I spoke to a couple of stores yesterday and its a case of join the queue, mainly made up of employees by the sounds of it.

I had a couple of pre-orders for the cable but none look like coming through until the end of the year, so I bought an official one from eBay from Japan. It came to ?37 including shipping which is about ?15 more than the one I had on order from Gameplay, so I don't think that's too much extra to have to pay. Some of the UK sellers are looking for ridiculous sums.

Had to go out this morning so I picked up a nunchuk. There seems to be loads of everything available apart from the console and cables.

The only thing about Wii I'm confused about is why Nintendo didn't include a second remote and nunchuk in the box. Even if they made it ?20 more for the console, 2 player gaming out the box would have been a big coup.

I think Nintendo were more determined to get it significantly under £200 rather than anything else. I can't believe it's actually £50 for a second Wii control set up in the UK. Thats very oof, but I guess the controller is most of the expense in the console. I have to admit, a £219.99 bundle with WiiPlay and a second controller set up would have been awesome.

Both my Argos and Woolies order arrived on Friday. Was going to flog the Woolies one on e-bay but my brother and his fiance fell head over heals for Wii Sports and I told them I'd sell them the other one for cost. Bang goes my profit but family comes first I suppose.

Currently experiencing "Wii shoulder" thanks to an extended bowling session last night. Love it

My accessories and games finally arrived from Amazon this morning. I've since bought a classic controller, a nunchuk and a large pack of AA batteries, so I'll finally be able to get some multiplayer going tonight. And some Zelda of course!

Both my Argos and Woolies order arrived on Friday. Was going to flog the Woolies one on e-bay but my brother and his fiance fell head over heals for Wii Sports and I told them I'd sell them the other one for cost. Bang goes my profit but family comes first I suppose.

According to my Mum the parcel 'looked quite bedraggled' & thats not a good sign.

I ****in knew this was going to happen!
What did I say?! - "What I'm slightly worried about is the consant moving of a parcel because the more it gets moved around the more its chances of getting damaged", which could mean that my Wii is ****ed!!

I am not ****in happy I can ****in tell u!!

Nintendo package the product really well. I'm sure it'll be fine. Your console would not be subject to any worse a throwing around than every other console would have experienced when coming to the UK from Japan/China.

I agree. Also not only are they well packaged but Nintendo gear is generally very well built too.
