UK Wii pre-orders Thread

    WRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

    It just gets worse and worse for me here. First i couldnt cancel my online order, now i find out that i put in the wrong adress when i was filling out the form. So basically, tomorrow night i get to go to gamestation, stand about for half an hour, and watch someone else walk away with my physical preorder at midnight because woolies has the money i would have used for it, then, friday morning, i have to get up early and go to the address i shipped the online preorder to, and wait about there for it to come, which it might not do because god forbid, it might be delivered next week instead, or worse, my lazy sisters wont be up in time to sign for it and i'll have to phone up for redlivery.

    This is the first time ive ever been bothered enough by a console to get it at launch and everything that could go wrong so far has, short of both preorders being out of stock D:.I could not be more gutted. The fact that i had enough money for 4 wiis in november,all of which which i blew on a 360 is not going unnoticed, as much as i adore my 360, i feel **** now that its the main reason i have to wait for my wii.

    This is all crazy hysteria, one day wont make a difference, but i feel like im being ripped apart waiting! Dammit.

    This is all due to my insane impatience too, thats the funny thing. I could have chosen in store pickup but i decided that delivery could be faster. I could have just sat tight with my original preorder and had my console at midnight, but i panicked and ordered a second online.

      i think the argos one is out of order saying "by ordering now, you can relax knowing that your console is reserved. Argos will even deliver it to your home - there will no (?? hard to read) hectic scramble to get your copy, no queuing and no waiting until midnight"


      I think the comment about midnight is quite significant, it definitely suggests that your order is for launch.

      Lets see if they deliver, not just mine but everyone who was given the same "assurance" from what they read and from some comments on the boards, what they were told over the phone.

          My Amazon order has also gone to dispatching soon. Unfortunately, none of my games or my extra remote seems to be moving.

            Yeah, mine's just changed too. Was a bit worried about how quiet everything had gone & I'd been daft enough to mess about with my order a couple of times which is a big no-no with Amazon (straight to the back of the queue with you!).

              The status for my Zelda preorder with Amazon has changed to "dispatching soon".

              Still no change on my preorder for a RGB cable with Amazon however - the status is still showing as "not yet dispatched". I guess I won't be seeing it until the 15th or whenever.

                My Woolies order says Ready for despatch for the Wii but Zelda is on back order which I guess is holding up the Wii.

                  I got a mail from Game.co.uk last night with a Parcelforce tracking number for my Wii & Zelda, it's not tracking on the website yet though...

                      Well now everything is showing as dispatching soon except my Wii Play. Checked at Gameplay and my component cable is still showing as pre-order. So I think tomorrow is going to be spent traipsing round shops if I can be arsed.

                      To be honest I'm not sure I can be bothered any more as this is turning in to a farce.

                          My Currys order has now changed to 'STOCK QUERY: we will update you by email or phone soon'. IE it's not gonna happen. Thanks for that!

                          Thank goodness I put in a backup order with Amazon, which now looks like it's getting ready for dispatch. Interestingly, they've split the Wii and Zelda into two separate deliveries

                            I placed my order with Argos back in October - before placing it i emailed them and called them.

                            Once I placed my order online, I recieved absolute zilch from them, no email confirmation, no phone call, nothing.

                            Then within 2 days they had debited funds from my account.

                            I emailed twice and in the end I had to call them before I was given an order reference number.

                            Pretty pathetic for a large store, they have no system online whereby you can check your order once placed.

                            Can you beleive it, not even a simple flippin email confirmation once order was placed. But man they were quick smart to take the funds and even then there was no contact or confirmation from them that they had done that.

                            Now I know s few people have said that they have received an automated phone message, I have received zilch.

                            I called them on Tuesday and the chap checked my order ref and said that my order has been allocated and I well recieve delivery Friday.

                            I emailed them last night asking for status of my order, shall see what comes back, I so dont trust them one bit..

                              As I'm the only one to have a Wii unit at a certain Currys store they have said I can Have 1st dibs on any software/perifs they have also got in. They should be calling me at some point today to let me know what they have got. As I have all the bits I want confirmed with Game I am offering to pick up any other requested items at 9am tomorrow when Currys open. Once I've picked them up i should be able to send them off that same morning (assuming payment is quick)

                              So, if anyone wants anything in particular then please drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do for you. No garantees. Price will be the UK retail (whatever currys charge me) plus postage and idealy i'd prefer payment from paypal. I'm not going to jack the prices, I just want to help you guys out.

                              PS. Not much point asking for component cables, i seriously doubt they'll be coming in and if they do I'll snag it in absense of one from Game.
