    Dixons don't even have enough to meet their pre-orders before the end of the year - That's 30th December, not Christmas - and they're getting four deliveries between now and then!

        I didn't order 3, I pre-ordered with 3 different places to make sure I got one. Play emailed me to say I wouldn't get one at launch so I cancelled the order, now Curry's have told me they won't get me one for launch, so at best I'll get one tomorrow, so if there aren't enough to go round it'll hardly be my fault since I'll have one if that and will have been proven right to try several different places since at least 2 have let me down.

          Yeah I'm struggling to understand online ordering of this type of thing - It's not quite the same as getting an import shipped from abroad.

          Ah, I remember the day my Gamecube turned up - sticking my hand in the box and pulling out cracker after cracker

          Shipped today ? Magic - With play that'll be Monday at the earliest

            i ordered at two places

            still no argos news, though on the EG boards people are saying they got the "wednesday" call at around the time i received my dead call. So im guessing if i did get the recording it was the negative one

              I've never ordered online, its always been in-store at Game since the Dreamcast and they've never let me down. But on this occasion, I canceled my pre-order and then had a late change of mind.

                Btw this from someone I know on another board...

                Just got off the phone from the very nice Head of Buying (Entertainment) for Woolworths - it's amazing who you can talk to if you pretend to be a Fleet Street journalist...

                Anyhow, she stated that the problem with supply has stemmed from a foul-up at the Nintendo distribution centre in Germany at the beginning of this week, and that stock they (Woolies) had ordered, that was already lower than the original requirement was not being met. Unfortunately their automatic billing system could not be prevented from billing all of those who had a pre-order - for which she would like to apologise.
                The latest news is that a second order is being rushed out from Germany and should be in stores "within 4 days". She also explained that a further "number" of deliveries would be made before Christmas.

                      If you placed an order with woolies and you are not going to get your console tomorrow you will be informed one way or another. I`ve done a short day today, and we recieved our parcel line delivery, but no Wii preorders.
                      I thought we would of got them today to be honest.
                      If you didnt get a sorry but... message then I guess you should be good for tomorrow.
                      I would point out that turning up at your local store first thing in the morning with the intention of having a hissy fit is pointless as parcel line deliver to stores all day.
                      One plus point is that alot of stores in my area got alot of software and controllers in todays delivery, my branch is only a little pissy one but we still got 15 copys of zelda and half a dozen of the other titles as well as various controllers. No comp leads I`m afraid.
                      I`m in the same boat as you guys - I placed my order on day one, ive not looked at the status of mine in the last few days as I`ve been more concerned about getting the info of my custommers orders (bar 2 it looks good).
                      At the end of the day if it goes tits up it makes me look like a ****.
                      Its a shame things have not gone as well as the 360 launch, but time will tell, lets see what happens in the next 24 hours.
                      As soon as I get any more news or information I`ll share it.
                      Please dont give the staff in your local woolies a hard time as they have no control over this.

                        So are there NONE for Woolies stores tomorrow or just a reduced amount? I'm hoping since I ordered in October there's a better chance of me getting one?

                          I just got the Argos call stating I wouldn't get my Wii until the 13th now. I could've sworn the reason I pre-ordered with them though was because they guaranteed a unit on the 8th but I can't find any info on this. Does anyone have any sort of written pre-order guarantee info from Argos? Or did I just imagine this in my haste to order a Wii :-)

                              Thanks for the words of reassurance Huxley - I have had nothing to say my order *won't* turn up tomorrow and I was charged for it on Monday, so fingers still crossed.....

                              Do you know when the order status will update? Still says "ready for despatch" on mine......
