And i definitely didn’t use my eBay account manager to F some of these people over either, no no, definitely not, certainly not the people claiming to have multiple Pro anniversary packs, one of them claiming they had 10 mysteriously had all of their listings deleted.

Very strange how that happened 😏

If I were Sony I'd have headed down the road that's been suggested, either not purposely limiting it to such a low number or by selling the cases seperately for a limited time.

Doing the design to coincide with the machines launch is promotion enough. In this scenario even a long time normal user will be tempted to flip the machine when they read they can get 5x the cost back so I feel the bulk of blame rests with Sony on this one.

The whole point of it was advertising though, as much as it sucks we can’t all have one, the Anniversary edition did exactly what it was designed to do, drive hype for the Pro, which it did well.

I reckon they could have achieved that without as much fallout though, like how the Slim Anniversary is easier to get but won't be around long. At near £1000 the target audience the hype drives toward won't move the needle much on the regular Pro. I wonder how things would have gone if all Day One Pro's had been Anniversary Editions?

PS5 Pro will significantly enhance PSVR 2 games according to Mark Cerny | TechRadar
Are we likely too see any further improvement for PSVR1 games or have we likely seen the roof of progress on that front with the standard PS5?

I want to thank Sony for providing another item where instead of playing games I spend hours on Google and Youtube deep diving the likely performance outcomes of the Pro to try and land on one side of the fence with it. I'm at the point where I think the argument for Pro is that it actually isn't required, it's going to be pretty heavily underutilised, but what you're mostly buying is some level of investment in the later end of this generation and maintaining some solid level of performance once the standard PS5 starts to finally feel the strain of the demands being placed on it. It's something that is somewhat easier to digest today because we're past the point in gaming history where consoles have price cuts, waiting holds less importance.

I think GTA6 is likely going to be the best indicator of where things are headed with Pro. Looking back I feel the biggest indicator for expectations on that game will be Rockstar themselves when they released RDR2. Red Dead Redemption 2 launched a hairs breadth of two full years after PS4 Pro and there was much speculation about what it would be like with more power behind it. When it finally launched the answer was very straight forward - Rockstar didn't give much of a damn about the Pro. The Pro used its power to maintain RDR2 at a higher resolution but the framerate was pretty much a lock across both machines. I think this is where GTA6 will land, locked 30fps with higher resolution on Pro - same assets and effects across the board though. The Pro will help buy that 4K or close to longer rather than being a system that 60fps is assured on.

I think I'm okay with that

Ah yes, address the core issue why don't you - it's definitely the performance of PSVR2 that's making people mad, right?

                  Are people mad?

Edit: I mean, I know the answer generally is yes. But about the PS5 Pro specifically, I mean.

Sorry, wasn't clear: my issue as a PSVR2 owner is that Sony's doing a crap job of supporting it, not that the things that are there aren't running well enough.

Ah okay. Yeah, that seems to be the case. Now that I'm a PS5 owner, I did look at the PSVR2 because I love VR but it seems almost impossible for me to justify right now.

I can't believe Blood & Truth is still tied in this way, if PS5 Pro brings any visual improvements to it there's a very real chance that it will be the last improvement to the experience the game ever recieves because I can't imagine PS6 will worry about supporting PSVR1

It's just bonkers that PSVR1 games aren't supported in any way. There are quite a few I'd like to play.
