Aye, this is how you get to

    Meathook's house

. This isn't that crazy to be honest. You haven't really got a lot in your inventory at this point, so it's worth a quick hail mary

    Yes, Thimbleweed Park is brilliant!

      Shoots ice blast at P2.

Moves 1 pixel to the right
Result! You used an ice power!
Yeah, one of the worst things with a game is when you get stuck in the progression, and you feel like you're doing the right thing, and you try over and over, again and again, and with every try you feel even less inclined just to dig out a walkthrough...

... then finally, you get fed up, dig out the walkthrough, and you were doing the right thing, but missing some technicality like you had to be standing in an exact spot, or over a line, or you got the idea of what to do but the game's rules are too arbitrary.

That's multiple Souls games; DS2 has the egg thing too (although you don't need to wait), and the coffin is in DS1.

Over half of the Commodore 64 game library that requires you to plug your player 1 controller in to Port 2 even when nothing is in port 1.

Hampstead on the ZX Spectrum (text adventure) required you to wander around an enormous maze of an industrial estate (requiring about ten separate directional command inputs that you could never hope to guess) to find an old industrial lathe to pass it off as an interesting object of art to a pretentious art expert. Otherwise you’d get the train and be stuck in a dead end wandering around Piccadilly not knowing what to do. I played it hundreds and hundreds of times and never figured it out.
