I'm not quite as excited about the launch of TP as I was about OOT but that's probably because I'm now deliberately staying away from anything even resembling a preview, screenshot, trailer etc. as I want the game to be completely fresh and full of surprises.

Having said that, I was looking at a number of threads on gamefaqs yesterday and I was really beginning to feel the Zelda love.

I think that I might wait and get TP as a Christmas present; the wait will probably be enough to kill me, especially considering everybody on this forum will probably already have it, but it will allow me to dedicate loads of time to it over the holiday.

I did the same thing with OOT over Christmas 1998 and it was fantastic - using my time off work to play the game almost solidly all day and well into the early hours of the mornings.

I'm too busy getting excited for Gears of War right now, but when I buy my Wii and hear that theme music, it's GAME OVER for the 360 until I finish it

Hehe i have 3 weeks booked off in december so i can spend time in hyrule (^_^)

It feels extra special playing zelda round xmas, i remeber playing OOT during xmas day & loving evey second. Did exactly the same with windwaker too.

Nothing worse than going to work knowing theres a zelda game sat at home waiting to be played.

Lol. I'm doing the very same, with a little overlap into Jan. so I can get some Lost Planet action in there too. Who wants to work at Christmas?

I'm very tempted to replay OOT soon, MM even more so, but I don't have the time at the moment. Gosh, less than a month til TP is mine

This is one of those moments where life just isn't fair...I simply must finish this dissertation of mine by Christmas. I think I need to be sensible and not play it until my research project is completed. Oh **** this isn't going to be easy. Can I stay away from the forum Zelda "This is Awesome" threads between the end of November and Christmas Day?

Will someone join me so we can work through the pain together?!?!?!? This isn't even fanboy pain, it's REAL. You guys understand!

I'll join you catman. I think it might be a while* before I get a wii anyway.

                      * Time period could be as little as one day. Light is not responsible for any hype that might force him to purchase Twilight Princess before Christmas Day. Under such circumstances buddahman must not complain when he receives a barrage of PM's from excited Light, claiming how freakin' awesome TP is. All other terms and conditions apply. Count me in, dood.

As I said above, I'm waiting until Christmas to get mine in order to put some serious time into it. For a game of this scale, I really don't feel that an hour here and there after work and at weekends will really do it justice. But the pain of trying to stay away from the first-play thread for over a month (A WHOLE MONTH!!! FFS) might just be too much to bear.

I'm going for a Pal Wii anyway so knowing I'll only have to wait 2 weeks will make the pain slightly easier and hopefully Wario and Monkey Ball will keep me occupied in the meantime.

I'm looking forward to this one.... I'm just not sure yet if I want to play it on the GC the traditional way or on the Wii... well.... the other way.
it's that I'll be playing this for several hours in a row, I just can't see me doing it several hours waving the Wii controller around.....

I'll probably will end up buying the Wii version because I'm too curious to find out how it plays that way...

I remember reading the Edge review of Ocarina and seeing the town image full of hustle and bustle. I've yet to see anything close to that in TP but when I do I'm sure I'll be smiling.

That's exactly it mate. I just wouldn't insult the game by only giving it the odd hour here and there when there's time (which there won't be until Christmas), that's why I need troops to stand firm with me and avoid the Zelda threads until Christmas Day! We can do it!

When's the U.S. release date of it again? The 19th?

The only time that I had to wait till a certain date to play a game that others were already busy thrashing about with was 2 years ago, when Metroid Prime 2: Echoes was released. That was my christmas gift, but it was so difficult to endure those 1.5 months after its release when people were having fun with it and I couldn't get my hands on it. Don't know how I survived, but it was painful everytime I got onto the forum and saw that the Metroid thread was being updated with people's impressions.

Thankfully, I've managed to ignore that thread and the holiday season as a result turned out quite fun.

I think I can quite easily ignore Zelda though. I'm not too hyped about it for some reason, whereas Metroid 2 was all that I was thinking about from E3 2004 til christmas that year!
