...This is a gamers game - not a zelda for newcomers - It's for the zelda hardcore.
At the risk of sounding like a n00b - is there a Zelda IS recommended for newcomers? The Wii will be my first "launch console" and I've actually managed to avoid Zelda on the GameCube (for reasons I won't go into). With all the excitement about Zelda, TP was one of my pre-order titles, but there is quite a chunk of me worrying that I won't "get it".

Ocarina Of Time got me into Zelda games, I think it's a great game for newcomers. Get the cube compilation disc and a copy of GBA Link to the past and you're sorted.

Ocarina of Time or Link to the Past. They're both probably the best of the series and got more people into it than any others. And, conveniently, they'll both be available for download on the Wii virtual console

Don't worry about this 'hard-core' Zelda image - Nintendo always make their games accessible for all. I'm sure you'll be fine and it won't take long for you to 'get it'. Sure, if you've played a Zelda game before there will be things that are recognizable and patterns that you are familiar with (dungeons, chests, compass, map etc etc). But on the other hand, everything will be new and fresh and exciting for you!

Another person really looking fwd to it but trying to block it out. Remember OOT and the rumours going round at ects that year that it wasn't gonna make Xmas. But oh yes it did and 3 months of solid play later...aah you all know what I mean.

Anyway this could turn out to be 'mare. I'm getting a US Wii to accomadate my GC collection (as well as cheaper software) but will be waiting till my sis goes to NYC in Dec. Which means I'm gonna have to wait over a month before I can play Zelda...oh noes...lol!

And if I'm walking down Oxf St or wherever and I'm able to walk in and purchase a Wii and Zelda (even if it is PAl) there and then I really don't know how on earth I'm gonna contain myself.

We'll see if I can contain myself but in the meatime...bring it on!

To be honest, even if this game *wasn't* as good as Okami, I'd still be satisfied - it's probably the finest adventure game I've ever played (obviously the Zelda series is barely behind it) but I'm hoping it'll be even better - it looks to be shaping up that way anyway, especially after hearing about the length and scope of the game.

                  Is it 7th December yet?

Has anyone else noticed the American GameCube version has been delayed until December 11th?

It's a shame. DVD-Box Office have cocked up my Wii preorder so I decided to go for the Cube Zelda just in case. Now I don't know what to do. I might have to buy a 360.

I'm not feeling it, infact a bit worried I won't love it or will be too overwhelmed by it's hugeness. Now I've played every main console Zelda game and I like them a lot but I've never played a single one when it was brand new (and I've never finished one ) so the ground breaking excitement was lost on me. But I wanted a deep game to get with the Wii to counter balance Wii Sports and I've always wanted to get a Zelda game on launch. Just a bit worried it'll just feel like any ol' game to me
