Backwards Incompatibility?

Does anyone have in English what PS1/PS2 games don't work on a Jap PS3?

While it sounds like a huge number of games, and it is quite a few really, there are probably over 3000 games out for psone and two. That report wasnt excacly in depth either, i mean a graphical glitch could mean like a menu not apearing as it should but the games runs fine so lets not jump down sony throught just yet.

The less i saw about microsofts BC attempt the better.

That's a serious number of games that have BC problems. Especially when you consider that the PS3 has the EE+GS chip built in. There's basically a PS2 inside.

That's only until the software PS2/PS emulator is completed then the extra chip will be dropped.

I still don't get the whole need for backwards compatibility anyway. Surely if you have a collection of PS2 games you already have a PS2 to play them on?

It'll almost certainly be fixed in an update, probably wont affect UK PS3's at all.

It's a PSTwo built in, as opposed to a ps2. If I remember right, there were a few ps2 games which don't work on a pstwo.
