Heh, I clicked on the information icon next to my component cable order in my Play.com account, and it gave me the following message:

We were expecting this item to be released on 01/01/1900, however we are still awaiting stock. We are holding your order and will process it as soon as stock becomes available.

Seperate stock mate. European gear needs to be CE certfied.

I'm going to sell my Gamecube component and then buy a price hiked Wii one if I can't get one any other way.

Not necessarily. You'll find that Nintendo probably got the design for the component cables CE certified a long time ago and this would apply to them all. The US Wii has a CE stamp on it apparently.

What is wrong with the cable yah get with the machine? It seams to work fine on my 43 inch TV. Am i missing something here? Or is it a case of better picture quality?

You cant get a progressive scan picture without a component lead, its a much sharper image, the lead that is supplied isnt what you want if you are used to HD picture with the 360

thanks Arcnas, I hafta say though Zelda does in some places look a bit murky using the lead i got given. Will a lead brought from this country work all the same on my US wii?

Over at the nfggame wiki (and forum), the av port is partially documented.
Technically you could mod yor composite cable to a component one.

                    Wii AV port

Me now waiting for a vga mod.

Component cables are back in stock at Nintendo US store, so someone could make a killing there ordering them to resell currently

Myself, gonna ask at the local GAME if they will have any in on launch to grab one

Why are these cables always so hard to come by at launch? You'd think nintendo would have learnt from Microsofts cock up last year and made a decient amount of them but it looks like exactly the same situations gonna occur!

It's not like they have any new tech in them like the blu ray and hd dvd drive shortages it's just a bleedin cable they could make a million of them if they wanted too!

Apologies if this is old news but we got some Wii game sleeves in at work today and Nintendo have put an icon on the back saying whether or not the game will run in Prog Scan much like they did with the 50 / 60Hz icon on the Cube stuff.
