I'm waiting for my order from yes-asia which should come shortly after the JP launch. I am finding that this time composite isn't too bad! Never thought I would hear myself say that! All the same bring on 480p!!

I had a chat with a supplier in the US last night, and component cables are no where to be seen apparrently, but there is a rumour of massive nintendo stock on all accessories week beginning 27/11. , wheter they will get the stuff out there remains to be seen.

I ordered one from Play when they were first put up - they've since pulled all details and the ability to order them from the site.

They really are like rocking horse crap at the moment.

Even nintendos, own site is out of stock as of today, and they are the suppliers of the things, it looks like composite for us all for a little while im afraid.

Are these going to be in the likes of GAME at launch ? I may phone and ask for one to be added to my preorder (did this with RGB SCART for 360 as I didn't have my HDTV at that point - how glad was I !!!!)

Likewise the USB->RJ45 thing for wired internet ?

If you can do that, I would (though who knows what the state of play for availability will be at the time of the UK launch - hopefully plentiful).

I'd imagine the situation in Europe for the first few weeks will be a repeat of trying to source component and VGA cables for the 360, i.e. bloody hard for a couple of months.

Are the component cables going to be avaliable to off the shelf in places like GAME here?

I dunno about "off the shelf" but yes the store will have them at launch so I recommend you make like me and phone 'em and ask them to reserve one for you !

I predict a 360 RGB type affair where they're as hard to get this year as Tracy Island was at Xmas 200x

With the shortages in the US, I bet Nintendo are furiously diverting all their supplies over there, leaving none for us at launch... After all, we all know how highly they regard Europe!

well seems playasia have no idea as well whether their will be shortages or not as i have ordered them from there (after finding out them being delayed in aus) and asked them and this was their reply:

so seems they have no idea. But given the lack of them in the states, the recent delay in Aus, and all of a sudden i think were gonna be confined to 480i for a while. Still i hold hope knowing that my expected shipping date is the 4th dec. Fingers crossed!!!
