I was playing the Forest Temple in Zelda last night through my new component cable. Honestly, it looks terrible. I was really trying not to be an HD snob and to try to ignore the ridiculously low resolution textures and environment geometry but it's difficult. The twilight world with all it's bloom looks much better fortunately, but not the 'real' world. It looks dreadful.

I'm not sure if component has made the Wii better or worse to be honest. Both look poor but I guess at least there's no colour smearing through component. Basically I would say for those of you with larger HDTVs waiting for your component cable - don't expect much, because you aren't going to get it. Especially so if you're used to 360 gaming.

I really, really wish Nintendo had done something really stylised for Twlight Princess, as Wind Waker would be so, so much kinder on Nintendo's crude hardware.

Forest Temple is definetily ugliest place in whole game. Graphics improve significantly in Death Mountain Mines. And it's nice to see that people still draw conclusions on what Wii can do by playing what is essentially Gamecube port.

Er, not sure what you mean there I'm afraid. I was trying to say I'll stick with simple looking, stylished games on my Wii, as the fact that the machine is relatively underpowered won't matter so much.

You basically said that if Wii does get incredible exclusive game that has "realistic" look, you aren't going to play it because Wii is in your opinion underpowered and doesn't have 720p? That's probably stupidiest excuse I have heard in ages.

i just spoke to a person via the live thing and he said if i ordered one today it will dispatch today. ive already ordered an official one through vgi, if i get the both tomorrow. i will put the gameplay one on here at the same price.

Agreed, i have used them quite a few times & they have provided nothing but excellent service.

Their prices leave a bit to be desired but that because they are a uk import place.

i just spoke to them on the phone. they seemed very friendly and responsive. my component cable is getting posted today, should get it tomorrow or saturday. good news!
