Please don't do it. It's just annoying.

If you're posts aren't interesting enough that people want to read them without you trying to be gimmicky then you'll just have to deal with that.

And once again Leon, stop taking this thread off topic please.
Sorry for taking it off topic, but I didn't stray too far off course.

My posts are very interesting ... It's just a shame that lots of people don't read whole posts, and jump to conclusions. Any way to keep peoples attention, has to be a good thing.

I may keep the ' bold tags ' simply because I hate people being picky. This isn't school, or maybe some people have a ' teacher complex ' ???

I love Nintendo with a passion, but why are so many so called fans so hostile? I said I'm buying a Wii, I said it's nice. I only wish Nintendo had created a much more powerful machine with games that make me weep with joy. Power doesn't have to mean Halo 4, Metal Gear Extra Solid or Gran Turismo HD. Did I ever say that's what I want?

Just my perspective, and one that many others seem opposed to. Why not say " I like the Wii, but I can understand your desire for a powerful Nintendo machine with breathtaking games? "

Maybe my dislike of rpg's has something to do with my attitude!

First person I've seen that shares my views. When the name was changed people were pining over "Revolution" as though it was a great name. It's not bold or interesting at all, it's a dull buzz-word that goes against everything Nintendo were aiming for with the machine. It's the name it would have had if it had chosen a boring power upgrade and went to compete with the 360 and PS3. How I'm glad I'm not in that parallel universe.

Wii is silly and I make fun of it but in an affectionate way, I think it works great as the idea to not take yourself or anything too seriously. I think what Nintendo is doing is the least mainstream of the 3 next-gen machines. Playstation is mainstream, being more worried about polygon count and other specs is mainstream. Daring to appeal to different kinds of gamers is different. And the fact that "Wii" annoyed so many people is great too, if you've pissed people off you know you're onto a good one. People that don't like the name seem afraid they're going to be made fun of for it, I think this has given them the slap they needed and pointed out that maybe they were more mainstream and less in favour of innovation than they thought they were.

I repeat. That's twice in the same thread..... sigh.

I'm beginning to sound as much like a broken record as you are Leon.

Wii is as mainstream as you can get. Think Eye-Toy etc.... It's been created to appeal to everyone, from toddlers to grannies.

The strong appeal isn't because Nintendo have found a secret formula that enables gaming to cross barriers, but is simply down to making things more simple and different.

When people have this attitude that the Wii represents something better, a new avenue for gamers, it only makes me angry.

Wii is different, not better. It's a Gamecube with a wand controller, nothing more!

As someone that loves all my consoles, from Super Famicom to 360, I appreciate normal joypads, arcade sticks etc... I've never wanted anything radical, just improvements if possible.

I would be happy if the Wii was part of the Nintendo family which included a more powerful machine with a fantastic new joypad. Then I could feel Nintendo have gamers like me in mind, as well as ambitions to conquer the broader market.

The Wii isn't bad, but I desire soo much more in 2006 and beyond!

Say what you want- but Nintendo know what they're doing.

The amount of people that actually have HDTVs is tiny compared to people who only have standard CRTS.

Most people currently play the 360 with composite, which tells you something.

The wii will look near enough as good as the 360 does in 480p- could look better infact, the wii is using the same video chip as the gamecube and that chip was astounding.

I've got my 360 for HD graphics, i'd like something that's a little different rather than more of the same.

And if you were refering to me not reading your posts properly- i did, i read everything properly before saying anything about them, and that's the vibe i got from them.

If you're planning on getting a wii, then why do you sound so dead set against it?

Won't look better to be sure, but personally I think the games on the Wii will look more appealing...

I just don't think it offers me what I truly desire from Nintendo. It seems too lightweight, when I would love something in-ya-face amazing.

The Super Famicom blew my mind, the N64 did the same, the Gamecube always delivered in small doses, but when it did, games like F-Zero GX and RE4, were stunning, even better than Xbox!

I said I'm buying a Wii, but it's not what I would have if my wishes could come true. Nintendo are going to spend the next 5years making GC quality games, and that makes me sad to a degree!

Yeah Lyris- that's what i meant. The games have better artistic style to them, well mostly. I've got to say i'm absolutely loving Viva Pinata's graphics atm- they're amazing!

I think making games appeal to those people is non-mainstream but that's us having a different understanding as to what mainstream means. You have a very narrow-minded view on what "better" is where new games consoles are concerned and seem personally offended that Nintendo didn't come out with the exact thing that you want. You also contradict yourself. I'd like to say more but I only replied to comment on the name and not to help veer the thread off-topic.
