I got a go on the Wii yesterday - as the tour hit Meadowhall down the road from us.

Quite a few people got really into it, and I didn't see one of the controllers leave anyone hands. The guy before me had virtually coated the controller with sweat, so if it didn't leave his hand, I can only think that the majority of these reports are from complete spackers.

You'd have to be literally butter fingered and sitting in one of those Centrifugal things that NASA have before they escape the average persons grip.
