I was always going to buy one but i thought now was a good time as any as there are literally thousands on ebay.com. I got mine just under the UK RRP so it's not like i've lost anything and then there's the Jp release of Motorstorm next week............

I think that I ventured beyond the Pale recently. At 2.20am on Thursday 30th of November, The Urge requested that I seek out Street Fighter II ' for the PC Engine.

I acquiesced and began trawling the Internet in the hope that the gods of Synchronicity would smile upon my sorry self - but to no avail. It should be noted at this point that I do not possess or have ever owned the aforementioned hardware but in this frame of mind that was unimportant - I just had to acquire this particular iteration of SF!

Finally, I happened upon Play-Asia's seductive homepage and proceeded to run a search for my gaming quarry. Lo! There it was! And just beneath it resided a rather fetching Duo-RX. "Just a few clicks and it will be mine", I thought - The Urge will be sated. It agreed, informing me that it will offer a far deeper, more rewarding experience than that SSFIIX snugly cellophaned on the shelf opposite. Yet, a kernel of sanity seemed to remain. I was immediately struck by a realisation or rather a Wii-alisation! December 8th was no longer obscured by the mists of time - for it was swiftly approaching, clad in green. With that, I hit the Home button and was spared...!

At 3.45am, I purchased Dragon Ball Z Shin Butouden from an American seller on Ebay.

TBH, even if you buy one now, you're not losing THAT much (besides the warranty I guess), due to the whole $:? exchange rate.

Additionally, you also get a R1 Blu Ray player so you can get those movies cheap and early. A blu Ray player alone costs more than a PS3. The PS3 is apparently the 'best' Blu Ray player so far too.

If you play games then there is nothing like getting, opening and experiencing new hardware.

As a kid you got a new console once in a lifetime. Now you're older you can buy one on launch.

This very thought is going through my mind for a Wii this Friday...

Total waste of money/white elephant at the moment imo. If I was to get one it'd be a Pal PS3. The amount of things that went wrong with my 360 makes me not want to import another console period. Also the price of an import (even the eventual Pal release) is bonkers. Whoever keeps thinking up these useless formats UMD, BluRay, Memory Stick for Sony needs to be put to sleep, just like Aibo was!! I'd be happy if my PS2 Slim would read the black PS2 discs.

I have a PS3, loving it all the way, fair enough Ridge is Ridge and whilst Resistance is fun its nothing particularly fresh, but I enjoy owning consoles at launch (that and I wanted something natively 1080p to test my new telly). I have no regrets. I like having it and im enjoying the games that I have, plus Motorstorm is out next week as has been mentioned before.

Only a Tiny proportion of those games are confirmed exclusives though, that is what bugs me. All the potential triple As are a good 8 months away.

Can you honestly see FF13 and MGS4 making it out in 2007, let alone in english!

MGS4 will almost certainly be 2007 as it's been announced and Konami have never delayed a Metal Gear title even during hardware transitions. Not to mention that US localisations have taken place during development and seen the light of day before or on Japanese release.

Like Rockstar in many respects, Kojima and his team have a habit of meeting their dates (even if it means ridiculous hours/cutting stuff).

I hate The ****ing Urge

Because of it, I have spent over ?3000 in November on a JPN PS3, US and JPN Wii and a **** load of games for those consoles, the 360, PS2, PSP and DS

The Urge for a 360 is growing by the day, despite the horror stories of hardware failure and whatnot. so i can see me getting myself one for Christmas.

i don't have a shiny HD telly or any of that guff and have no intention of buying one, i just want to play the games. but it will mean that one of my other consoles is going to be relegated to Storage Division 1
