Recently I bought a Parker game shop display unit which basically holds 24 Atari 2600 cartridges and houses an Atari 2600. When all hooked up, the player can select any of the 24 carts at the press of a button. Like a mini Atari arcade. I got this for 6 quid.

Before that I picked up 25 boxed Intellivision games for a fiver.

I swapped the Atari/Parker unit and the Intellivision games for a Sega Nomad. So in effect, I got the Nomad for 11 quid. Result.
Well the Parker game shop display unit can fetch $500 on a good day, which against a Nomad which has a value of $120 doesn't seem that good a swop...
Not over here. It goes for bugger all. I bought it for 6 quid on Ebay.

Besides, it's far too large for my small flat, so I had to get rid of it sharpish.

        Some more -

        Rival Schools 2 DC - 8 quid

11 Nintendo Game & Watches - all bought at boot sales for ?1 or less

Slimline NGPC + Linker + linker cart + Rockman Power Battles - ?40

        Shining Force 1 & 2 MD - ?8 for the pair

Guardian Heroes + 2 other Saturn games - 15 quid

        Guardian Heroes - 6 quid

        Sega Multimega - 20 quid

DCX for DC - free (@CEX, I asked for a DCX and the guy said 'we've ony got this unofficial one which you can have' which was a bit odd)

All sounds good admittedly, but I have a friend who is the jammiest person on earth. For eg - he has two Vectrex consoles, both of which were bought for a fiver each.

I know a few people that would have snapped your arm off for it and would have paid about ?250 for it...

Ebay is annoying at times as unless your specifically looking for something you have to browse each 1000+ item catergory so you might miss things... :/

I doubt it. You might be confusing the parker unit with one of those huge Atari shop display units with a counter top. This is a unit that you fit your 2600 inside and has a rack above it. It's got a wooden base, with a platic overlay, and a rack which sticks up out of the base at the back. It's definitely worth more than the 6 quid I paid for it, but I doubt anybody would pay ?250 for it. It's basically a fancy romscanner or multiplexer.

Anyway, I got a Nomad for 11 quid and got rid of stuff taking up too much room which earned me some brownie points with the missus.

Well thanks to the goblindirect sale and their special members prices I have made over ?100 profit in three weeks from selling NTSC XB titles on eBay. ?1.99 for Reign of Fire? eBay sale of nearly ?10 (sold about 4 or 5 so far). Other games include POW, Robotech, Test Drive, etc. Most have cost me ?2.99 and all have sold at a profit (some silly prices too).

That will be my bargain of the year. Of course this is marred by my DSL set-up for XB Live (?150 gateway, ?30 cables and NIC, ?57 installation and ?25 pm subs, oh and ?40 for XBL).

The big print giveth, the small print taketh away.
