Nice I guess. I bet you'd still lose to someone using a pad in a race though. I still want to get the official PS3 wheel upon release to go with GT5 mind. Provided it doesn't come as a boxed set with the new pad, which will cement the fact that pad>wheel.

This wheel should be tops for Gran Turismo as it has 900 degree turn, force feedback etc.

2 hours search reveals that to be the best price anywhere too.

That said, I have heard that the official GT5 wheel will have some control on it to allow you to turn the driver's head during in-cockpit views so you may want to hold out.

Reminds me though, I must look into picking up a wheel. Not sure whether to get one of the PS2 ones or wait to see if the release anything PS3 specific.

Yamauchi has mentioned that a wheel is in development but in shots of the studio you always see the GT4 wheel so I'm guessing it'll be out closer to GT5 that Prologue.

I've never owned a wheel myself but I'm sort of tempted with this one. I've played many games with and without a steering wheel and I've found that you get a very different game depending on what control you use.

I wouldn't say that one is better than the other but I do think that the are suitable for different things. I spend much of my time in GT in the time trials learning how to perfect that car, I think that a wheel would work well for me like that but I imagine I'll probably stick to the pad for much of the game.

Has anybody else noticed that when ever you see a video of Yamauchi playing one of the GT games that he seems to be using the dpad every time?

Recently, Prologue has been demoed with a G25 e.g. at Leipzig, I'm unsure about E3.
Yamauchi has said he likes the G25 but he sees room for improvements, it's certain that he will be working with Logitech for the official GT5 wheel. I'm sure it'll be something special, I'm just worried about the price, a G25 is £150!
I'd like to see them lose the clutch and H pattern gear stick and just stick to a G25 quality wheel with sequential shifters, 2 pedals and keep the cost to £100 max.

Also, yep Yamauchi always plays with the d-pad for steering and face buttons for accelerate/brake out of preference. He's pretty nifty with a wheel too!

The g25 is a gorgeous wheel, but very pricy. I hope the clutch / and all gears work too hehe

I should have posted it on here somewhere but a couple of months back somebody on eBay had 5 or 6 of the GT3 game/wheel box sets going for about £40 or £45 which seemed like a fair price to me.

nah I use a driving force ex, I wanted the pro, but the ex was a good price new in gamestation, its actually pretty nice too apart from the blue trim
