Apparently there will be a theme download on the stores this week (JPN is already up), 20k per region in total - same as they did with Home a while back.

Sony must be ramping up on the ol' advertising as in Manchester Piccadilly Gardens next to one of the (compulsory) 2 Starbucks they have opened a Littlebigplanet 'store'. Doesn't look like its sells anything but its decked out in LBP style decor and contains a number of PS3's running playable copies of the game.

Weird seeing stuff like that, like the Motorstorm: Pacific Rift set up at the Trafford Centre about 3 weeks ago.

Has the theme been confirmed as the way to get on the beta now? It seems fairly standard now for downloads via the store in Japan to volunteer but it's not been done that way outside of Japan yet.

The LBP bloke (Can't remeber his name now) on the beta forums said that it would be by the standard process but didn't say what that was.

They seem to be random over here rather than having to volunteer so maybe it'll be that way again. As there's 20,000 places in Europe it seems very likely that it won't just be available to beta testers.
