I'm really, really, REALLY hoping Sony go "old school" on this title and start packing it in with EVERY PS3 sold. Mario got massive not just because it was an awesome series, but because it was the defacto prepackaged title, back in the good old days when you got a game with every console.

Doing that, this game may just have the impact we all hope it will. It will get everyone playing it, and immediately new PS3 owners will have a wealth of user-generated content. New players come in, have a game, mess around, they'd love it.

From a business perspective it makes almost perfect sense. The 360 price cut will hurt Sony unless they can match the price of the Elite. The Wii is pissing over everyone, appealing to the casuals and having a packaged title. I'm not suggesting LBP could be as big with casuals as Wii Sports, but it's got amazing cross-over appeal - it's a familiar genre with the best character design I've ever seen.

I'm sure a lot of people on this forum who don't have a PS3 would be tempted at say £230 (the Elite price) with LBP in the box, and with some heavy marketting it may get a chunk of the casual market. Chuck a real SackBoy in the box and they'll do great.

Or even better, go the Cabbage Patch Kids route - each packin SackBoy is unique in some way! That would be awesome.

I'm getting it but I'm starting to worry about regions. Easiest for me is to pick up the Japanese version, but will I be able to comprehend it all?

Playing the review code right now, the game is sooo awesome. With all the "build stuff yourself" hoopla, I've almost forgot that the game is a really, really good and superbly drugged out inventive platformer.

There's a Motorstorm: Pacific Rift level online already and some others from Sony devs.

That new level could be interesting.

4 and a half weeks to go and only Mirrors Edge, Heavy Rain and anything by Team Ico (naturally) are anywhere near as high on my most wanted list.

I'd love to see LBP levels of those to!
