American's don't know the origin of the word spastic which is, I believe, why they throw the word (and its derivatives) around so willy nilly. An American company once made a wheelchair called a "Spazz". Didn't go down to well when they tried exporting them to the UK.

I would never want to upset someone because of their physical appearance or disability. If I upset someone because of their religious beliefs though I honestly couldn't care less.

Looks like that's when we can expect stores to start receiving their copies (3rd) and that they can start selling straight away, so hopefully most stores will get their copies early that week.

I'm not sure this will sell huge numbers straight off the bat anyway, so any direct rivalry won't be much of a problem - it should keep selling as the content develops and in the run up to Christmas as well.

I would have thought so, although it's only a day or three between the dates.

Various sites, and radio1, are now reporting a 3 week delay from the original date.
Oh well whatever date it comes out on at least its solved my problem of what to buy on the 24th oct, now, this, Valkyrie Chronicles or Fable 2. Fable 2 looks likely for next week now.

SCEE just sent out a statement in response to the you-may-have-heard-of-it-by-now LittleBigPlanet delay. In short: if you're a PAL user, don't panic. The game will be out "no later than the week commencing Monday 3rd November", with the title rolling out across Europe, Australasia and the Middle East throughout that week. The wording seems to rule out any hope of a firm release date for any of the regions, so feel free to badger the **** out of your local game store until their stock turns up.

Also worth pointing out that as of October 23rd Sony Australia stated they were giving a copy of the game to anybody who buys a PS3 whether the console is a part of a bundle or not.

As it looks like the release date is possibly the 7th over here I'm not sure how that will affect the Australian release with the free game.

I'd seen that mentioned. Do they have no confidence in the sales of the game; want to make sure they maximise their numbers; or just plain not like money? I can't work it out.
