      I like this thread.

I'm rather fond of the one that turned up on my doorstep the other day, Garouden Breakblow: Fist or Twist.

It's not an addition title, but I always loved some of the Japanese translations of PC Engine game titles, like Super Long Nose Goblin or Super Foolish Man.

That's exactly what I thought until recently. I assumed everyone was talking about the PC custom edition for some reason but it turns out that the 'CE' suffix has been co-opted for the first one. I've got no idea when that happened and why they chose one that was already in use...

Back on topic, I don't like the way that so many DS games sneak the initials DS into their subtitles: Dawn of Sorrow, Dual Strike, Double Shot, Dual Sympathy, Dust Strikers, Destiny's Soldier, Dragon Sword, Deadly Silence, Dick Suck (maybe), etc. In fact I don't like the 'DS' suffix in general and wasn't a fan of the '64' one back in the day, either.

Finally, the Castlevania naming convention, which is inevitably '[type of music] of [something scary]'. Not a bad idea; just grates for some reason.

Castlevania: The Jazz of The Decline of Society

                  I'd buy it!

How about the little-known Daily Mail special edition - Castlevania: Cliff Richard of Asylum Seekers? Goes for a mint on eBay.

Well if we're just going to make up Castlevania names, why not broaden it?

PaedoHunter: Justice for Children: Black Edition

                      or,

                      Castlevania: Queen of Paedophiles.

On the subject of names: I actually prefer the Japanese name for Resident Evil. Biohazard more accurately describes the game - it is not a supernatural title - it is a man-made virus.

Also, Combat Evolved is a relevant subtitle. Halo presented intelligent enemies for the first time and a very versatile form of fighting, including melee attacks. I don't think it was ever intended to be a true part of the title, it's just something many use to distinguish it from the sequel.

Not a part of the actual game titles per se, but I always liked those taglines that you got on the spines of Japanese Neo-Geo games that described what kind of game they were. eg: Super Visual Shooting Game, Katana Battle Action Game etc.

Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean is a quality title.

I was so disappointed by that. I originally thought it was supernatural, only to find out it wasn't

Once you've looked up "ocarina" in the Oxford English Dictionary, that is.
