Super Stardust HD

Just a heads up - I've updated my PS3 to 2.30 and on the new store they're listing the Super Stardust HD add-on.

Do not buy it!

I guess it's not supposed to be listed as it's not working, all it did was cost me ?3 and break the music. (nothing plays now)

EDIT: For some reason it had changed to custom soundtrack for me in the options (which is weird, as I don't have any music on my PS3) so the music does work, but the add-on does not.

Just to update things, turns out there was supposed to be a patch coming with the content and they were a bit slow getting the European one out. Update the game to v3.0 and it works fine.

Only tried the new "bomber" mode so far, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit:

I'm tempted to get this as I love stardust but I don't really play it much anymore. hmm

Maybe a stupid question but I don't see this anywhere in the Japan store - all they have is "Super Starstrike HD" - I assume that is the same game?

Yep, its called Starstrike in the JPN store.

This is just great stuff, and that for only 8 euro's, graphics are very good and the difficulty is just spot on ! haven't finished this yet, but I can see myself playing this alot !
Also downloaded the extra's today (only tried survival) didn't have any problems with it.

Endless mode is ****ing awesome !!! that is some crazy ****, perfect for a quick thrilling blast !! and it looks absolutely amazing.

Those extra's are a great addition to an allready amazing arcade game !

It's really difficult to explain the game really, it's more than just shooting stuff but as you enjoyed Super Stardust it's worth thinking about.

Hmm, honestly I was quite disappointed with Everyday Shooter, and I'm a big fan of this type of game.

That said, if you've only got a PS3, it's probably the next best option if you're looking for something else to play. (if you have a 360, or an original Xbox, I would highly recommend Mutant Storm / Mutant Storm Reloaded)

I heard something about new and bigger explosions and a new 'retro' soundtrack.

I guess I should just pay the 3 quid and find out hehe

Not sure about the explosions, but the graphics/lighting seems to have been improved somewhat compared to how I remember it. Haven't played the game for a while though so it might just be my mind playing tricks on me.

The new soundtrack is great and the sound effects also seem slightly improved. (I think I read something about them being remastered) Apparently the game supports DTS now as well, but I can't confirm it.

The upgrade is well worth the extra ?3, a must-buy in my opinion.

I've noticed when you go to play it now , even the non updated vanilla version, it asks you to update to 3.0. I'll maybe get the addon later. sounds good.

I noticed my amp shows it's being fed DTS. Only other game I remember doing that was Uncharted. Sounds great.

This addon is definitely worth £2.99 , no question, I had great fun trying bomber mode for a few minutes. I like the pick up and play modes. The new retro soundtrack is cool too, and its just a more polished game now it has more to it.
