Fantastic job RetroEd. I've been really tempted to do summat similar as GC's are cheap as chips to pick up these days.

        Thanks for the replies all.

I haven't put it all back together yet, but once I have I'll check everything's working ok and then get the LED swapped over. Here is another cheeky pic.

It's a decal I got with issue one of the new ONM, carefully cut and stuck on.

Anyway, it works! Here's a couple pics before I try putting the LED in. I've put the handle back on as it looked a bit odd without it.

I have now done the LED. I ended up gluing it in place, after carefully pulling out the orange LED using pliers. The end result is just what I was looking for.

What do you reckon, better than before?

Doesn't match the LEDs in the WaveBird now though

Have you not got a soldering iron?
                      The result is great though

I don't own one myself, but I was going to use my dad's. I had a little look, and glue was more than sufficient. I pulled the orange LED's prongs through the two holes, put the blue one in, bent the two prongs down a bit, and glued them. Worked a treat.

I may have a go at swapping the orange LED's in the two WaveBird's I have soon. They'll go nicely with the Wii then, aswell.

You will need a seriously small tipped soldering iron and great skills
The LEDs are very small SMT types about 1.5mm x 1mm.
It's more important to change to receiver LEDs imo.

You could always replace the SMT ones with standard 3mm ones.

                                Nice!!

Most mods are just crap because they overdo it but yours is subtle which I always like.

What type of paint did you use? I's recommend using spray dye (http://www.duplicolor.com/products/vinyl.html) that you buy for the plastic bits inside your car. It chemically alters the colour of the plastic rather than just putting a different coloured layer on top so is permanent and won't rub off with use.

Were you tempted to move the Wavebird dongle inside the case? I believe that it can be done, has anybody here tried it?
