Cheers for the link papercut, that video is insane.

I might give shakkato tambourine a miss. The j-pop songs in Taiko aren't amongst my favourites. I prefer the classical tunes as they're more fun to drum along to.

I've never had any problems with the Tam Tam controllers either. They respond to the lightest tap

yeah, my lass ins't really into games and gets bored of most of them after a couple of minutes. Taiko's the only game she's actually sat and played for ages.

just wait till she gets a load of my marraca's though (Ooerr!)

Review on the new smaller Pop n Music controller in my picture:

It's probably a bit too small for chubby western hands. The buttons are too close together for many. I got use to it after a few goes.

The buttons are also hyper sensitive so you can't actually rest you hands on them. This is better cos it encourages a hard tapping style of play which is how it's suppose to be rather than a stroking style.

I tried it with Pop n Music Best Hits - playing the Classical piece shown in THAT video and managed to get pretty decent scores on Normal level.

I then tried the manic HYPER level featured in the video and I would have classed it impossible had I not seen that Jap fella do it.

Think the contoller cost about ?25 from Japan and I would defo recommend any fan of PNM picking it up.

Ah cool, I'll have to pick that up. PLaying with just a regular PSX controller can be very fiddly at times. Any reccomendations for a decent controller to use with Beatmania?

Ono - I noticed you've got gunvari collection in that photo of stuff you got from japan. is it suped up in any way or is it just the PS version of the games all stuck on a disc.

Just the bog standard PSone versions - not too bad for the Gun Bullet games but pretty poor form for the TC.

Still! It was cheap (?21) and the GB games are some of my faves ever.

ooh i have a funny controller that hasnt been mentioned yet

                    The playstation conducting baton!

You can use it for Mad Maestro and also Maestromusic on ps and ps2 i believe

It measures the force that you flick it to control the volume and the rate of your flicking to control the tempo
