That's funny, would never happen though.
Peanut allergy eater goes to but some nice chocolate, here let's see what happens...

"WARNING THIS CONTAINS PEANUTS AND EATING THIS MAY KILL YOU."

Ach that's ok I will give it a go.
    Oh my god im dying.
    Survive.
    Sue.
Thrown out of court cause your a knob who can't read a warning and know full well you have an allergy to peanuts.

Seriously dont see where the problem would have been with having an option to switch it on and off and a warning, what harm would that have done in the end?

        Maybe, one glorious day

It may do. 1080 will be the standard res for the next few generations at least, and already you can hit 60fps on a PC at those resolutions on every game bar Crysis. Obviously poly counts and effects will increase, but I honestly think next gen, we should start demanding 60fps.

As long as Sony and MS don't go the cheapy GC->Wii upgrade route

Developers are always going to choose having spangly graphics that everyone can appreciate over the subjective difference 60FPS makes to a game

I have to agree slightly with Chain here. It probably wouldn't have been hard at all to put the option to switch the effect on or off in the game but if they did they could of shot themselves in the foot a little. Even though there might have been a warning someone would of played it and said they suffered a seizure or something from it then it would of been all over the newspapers. "VIDEO GAME GIVES SEIZURE". I'm sure Sony could do without the bad publicity. There is a warning right there but it probably wouldn't stop someone playing it with the effect on. Sort of like all the publicity around Manhunt and GTA, they all have 18 ratings on them but still they were called to be banned so kids couldn't play em.

One of the problems is that you don't actually have to be epileptic to suffer a photosensitive seizure and Sony putting a warning in a game which they knew was likely to cause seizures does not excuse them in the eyes of the law.

Far more importantly than that, whether we agree with their decision or not and if the rumour is true then they've tried to do what is the right thing by minimising the risks to people who just want to play their games.

I concur, this is a Sony initiative, they are clearly the ones who are concerned. There are no governing bodies making them do this

Exactly. Zone looked great and I'd like to have given it a go in it's "full" mode, but it's not to be and if the seizure rumours are true, then Sony have done the right thing.

Not sure this has been posted:

Worth the £12 Frame rate looks dodgy but that's most likely the encode, which isn't 60fps.

The fact is every game comes with an epilepsy warning basically saying, do not play. I have 2 friends with the problem and they do not game as instructed by their doctors.

I am only upset because Zone mode looked phenomenal and I am disapointed its been toned down. I still think a warning and an option for the 1 percent would have been fine.

I'm really looking forward to this, having recently bought WipEout 3 SE and loved every bit of it. I was quite underwhelmed by the PSP outings, but that might be because of the small form factor, I have every faith in loving this!

Between the 1080p racing at 60 frames per second, the awesome trophy support, motion steering via SIXAXIS, online racing and A LOT more, the excitement level is understandably high.
