The Xbox was active for well over three years. The 360 has been out for little over a year and half.

Next generation development costs more that what it cost 2 to 3 years ago. big 3rd party developers can't take as big a risks thats why you see sequal apon sequal.

Your wanting games like jet set radio future, panzer dragoon orta the sad fact is these games only appeal to a minority. In a industry where it tooks millions and millions and that increases each year they can't take the chance. This applys to all consoles I believe that games that are innovative will become even less in the future as the costs go up and up.

Going back to the original thread topic. Rare make innovative games or try to break the mold from a particuler genre. With innovation comes a price the biggest being it just might not seem appealing to alot of gamers.

Alot of companys can't afford to take that risk or wont so the lack of choice on any given console in one genre or another is a finacial choice by the developers/publishers and not the hardware developer.

Ah I understand now - you are pissed that Japanese devco's are actually supporting the 360 with some of their better known, better selling titles rather than the likes of games which would sell 1000 units max.

How dare the masses buy these releases rather than letting you sit there at home feeling smug with your 'rare' japanese software.

Anyways, back to your list. Can you please point me out the jrpg's hidden in there, or the AAA franchises. How about the fish tank simulator, or the make a pop star simulator. Giving those a miss, how about the train sim (always popular with the 'rare' gamer).

In fact I can make this easier - point out the genres in your list which aren't being represented on the 360 ........

          thanks

I agree with you there, to add I would rather have quality over quantity. PS2 had quantity so it made it hard to list the quality titles. 360 has at least a few good titles representing most genre's and it will only get better with time. This also applys to the PS3 and if the wii keeps its 3rd party support it also.

It is such a hard thing to gauge though, with the swings and roundabouts of who is the console super power, nobody really knows what games we are gonna get and how many. The games industry is so young it isn't even close to stabilising , games companies are realising that they don't exist purely to be creative , but infact they exist to make money. Even the JPN dev houses are changing their die hard habits because quite simply the western market is worth more than the Japanese one.

buy all 3 consoles then you get every game you want to play (in fact it might be worthwhile buying 3 Wii's and 3 360's - one from each region)

Worrying about what the 360 has not got in its catalogoue is not your problem, it's Microsoft's.

Buy what ever console you want and enjoy playing games.

Get some fresh air and think hard to yourself why you bothered wasting a few hours of your life crying over spilt milk.

yeah, if you can, be open minded and follow games rather than consoles. We are gamers. Some games you want may need you to buy a pricey key to play it i.e a console.

I wanted to play GRAW, I saved pennies and got a big white noisey key, which unlocked doors to lots of other nice looking games. I wanted to play Resistance I bought a big black dusty key that opened a door with a key rack which had labels to keys coming soon I want to play. I wanted to play tennis ,so I...... Zzzzzzz Group hug.
