Does anyone know if there are any special servers available (or still available) to play SSF2X for matching service online? I wanna test my skills against the Japanese or whoever else who wants to face my SF skills...

You can't as you don't live in Japan.

Subscription to Capcom's Matching Service is only available over there.

So has no one at all attempted to arrange to play these games on a specially bodged up or hacked server of there own?

I've no PC knowledge at all but surely can't this be done?

It's done now using Kalira on Final Burn and similar things happened with Halo on the Xbox linked up over the net using special servers...

I *think* the matching service dials a list server, then disconnects, and dials your opponent.

So you'd have to hack it at the pots level.

Nah, I'll have to give it a go at some point... my ASCII pads need a workout Didn't know about the hidden characters either, that's something to work towards

How does CvsSNK play online. Any by that, I mean lag... so no smart arse "Well, two characters start facing one another, a number counts down, and then you..." answers.

I've finally despaired with my friends, who were once so into beat em' ups it's untrue, but have since stopped playing any games at all really, unless it the Matrix... so I've got to find something better, obviously.

I'll still be crap, though, don't worry. It'd just be nice to play again.

OK don't flame me for my view on this post now...

I think that Super Street Fighter IMO is far too slow and like others have mentioned, the Street Fighter 3 series isn't that great as the characters have no real personality with some aliens that don't even fit in.

Agreed.

Super was faaar too slow, SSF2X was a massive improvement. I don't like SF3 in any shape or form, Capcom lost the plot IMO and I moved onto playing KOF...

Personally I like Alpha(Zero 3) and SSF2 Turbo. I also like the SF3 series with 3rd strike being my favourite. Cap Vs Snk 2 is also great.
