The games for the PSP that you can download from the store - are they purely for playing on the PSP, or can they be played on the PS3 as well (without using a PSP at all)? I imagine not, but I was just curious...

If they just state PSP (Like Wipeout Pure, HSG etc.) then they're PSP only, I'm afraid.

Shame they didn't do a free sample of the Qore magazine, can't see many people stumping up the money blind so to speak.

It's not something I'll bother with often but for a quid or whatever it was it's alright I suppose.

They have articles on different games and there is a really good Namco article on Afro Samurai. I'd seen nothing of the game before but it looks fantastic and I can't wait for it now.

There are ads in it for GRiD and another game that I've forgotten about now. The download section is bought to you by BurgerKing so has a windowed ad for a few seconds. That was only there the first time I went there though.

It does have a link for the SOCOM beta but it's not available to download yet. One of the other downloads was the exclusive SOCOM theme which I had to be logged into my US account to be able to download.

There was quite a bit on SOCOM and Force Unleashed which looks really good and also a Hulk film trailer which I'd not seen before but I suppose it may not be new.

There was another download for Calling All Cars which you get free if you subscribe to the year for $24. Don't know if that download is available for subscribers at the moment or not as it was unavailable to me.

It's difficult to know what to make of it, for the price it's OK as a magazine and the articles were what I enjoyed the most really.

Review of Commando and impressions of Qore on IGN.

Qore doesn't sound great:

However, while the format is an interesting one, there are some issues that might affect players decisions to purchase Qore. The first one is that while you can skip the intros of certain segments, you can't skip the interstitial ads that pop up whenever you access a new section. The fact that you've already paid $2.99 should exclude you from being subjected to this continual advertising, but there's no such luck. Another significant problem is that some of the video shown is clearly upscaled to HD instead of being shown in a native HD resolution. The Hulk Trailer, for example, is obviously the standard definition version of the trailer. There are some HD segments, but not as much as you'd thing there would be, which is rather disappointing. What's more, there isn't as much downloadable content as you'd expect there to be. You can't download the screens in the art gallery to your hard drive, the download section only features three items, and there doesn't appear to be remote play functionality, which is rather disappointing.

Screw that.

Dunno why paying $2.99 for a magazine should exclude you from getting adverts. You'd be hard pushed to buy a real magazine that didn't have any adverts in it!

I think calling them ads is a little misleading as people are probably expecting non-gaming stuff when it's things like MGS promos which can be skipped by pressing X whether it's the first time you see them or not.

The only one that you can't skip the first time is in the sponsored download section which lasts all of around 5 seconds and is a small window. Once you've seen it then it doesn't show again until you've quit out of the magazine and then loaded it up again.

I'm really not sure why people are making such a big issue of the ads in this magazine really, as Chris said it's standard practice and not exactly obtrusive.

As I aid before, it's nothing I'll bother with unless there is an article I'm really interested in but a few seconds of an ad in one section really doesn't affect the thing.

I don't know when they'll start making the Afro Samurai stuff in this public but it was worth quid just for that article for me!!
