It looks like Running With Scissors are making Postal 3.

This post has taken me ages to write as I keep trying to write something funny but then the depression caused by that video kicks back in.

Postal 2 was an incredibly bad game, but there was something seriously amusing about a sandbox game where you could unzip and pee on people in First person. These hideous act would have some NPCs vomiting in disgust and soon have you chased by policeman.

That's what I thought as well, the "go anywhere and do anything you want" stuff feels incredibly good at first but it doesn't take long before the thrill is gone.

If you look around the message boards of the official site, you get an idea of the hardcore fans: usually thrill-seeking 13 year olds.

The NCP's in that video looked so lifeless, and were probably as equally bored of being in the game as we were of watching it. None of them even flinched when he started shooting the car and there was hardly any reaction when he shot one of the people in the diner.

I quite liked the first Postal as "something different" but I thought it all went a bit outrageous for the sake of being outrageous (or at least attempting to be) from the second game.

I did laugh at the bit on the diner where the guy sat at the table and both of them kept doing a double take at one another.

But something tells me that wasn't intentional.

And then it went out of sync, so it was particularly short lived.

That?s a thoroughly depressing trailer.

Although it?s an unfair comparison, we have tens of thousands of talented and artistic people in the videogame industry and have got the knowledge to make ground breaking and inspiring games.

Why are games like this being made in this day and age? It could turn out to have its tongue firmly lodged in its cheek and be very playable but it looks so vapid, uninspiring and depressing.

Excuse my ignorance. Is this an actual game that's going to come out? And if so, were there actual previous games like this?

Tragically yes. Postal was some isometric thing and Postal 2 was a semi open world FPS.

They are trashy pieces of crap that appeal to wrestling fans and people who watch Tom Green movies.

I kinda want this to hurry up and get released for the sole purpose that it's using Source Engine and getting a Linux port, hopefully that could bring Steam over to the OS at last.

Postal 2 was pretty bad, it did have some moments i'll never forget though, like having to wait in line for Gary Coleman's signature and getting Kidnapped by Arse Raping Hillbillies. It's not like Running With Scissors will be bothered by poor reviews or internet opinion anyway, they'll probably put the worst scores on the box.
