I think going multiplatform would be the way to go. After all, most people craving for Shenmue 3 are old Sega adopters. After Sega quit the hardware business, some went Sony, some Nintendo and some Microsoft. (Well, except for those who could afford more than one system. ). That and the Xbox selling poorly in Japan -- if putting it in other systems could bring more money in sales, no matter the market, why not.

Mario and Sonic at the the olympic games?? lol!!!!

the whole threads been about shenmue and no one has even laughed at this???...

      oh wait... nevermind

Really though, if they ever did make a new shenmue it would have to improve on the original games alot, becuase playing them these days they feel awfuly clunky. maybe they should just leave them dead, i know the series has its fans, and i never played them at the time of release but they have never semed like great games to me when i have sampled them.

Because Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is real :P

I'll agree that Shenmue's control system does feel clunky. I adore the games, I really do, but it's definately an area they'd have to rework and revisit if they were to go back to the series today. Not necessarily the combat, just the whole 'tank' feel itself.

I'm not sure if people are being sarcastic in this thread or not, you don't honestly think that is a screenshot do you?

Well I shouldn't say but it came from a Japanese website that quoted their source in English as Tom Hotdog Rasta. He was in AM2 for the first Shenmue if I remember correctly but I think his role was reduced when they made the second game. That he is back involved with them can only be seen as a good thing - many people cited Shenmue 1 as their favourite due to his involvement with the project.

                    Samba De Amigo Fever (PSP)
                    *Sigh*

I'd rather this came on Wii or one of the main consoles with wireless maraccas.

Dogg's just messing about. That bicycle screenshot is from before the game was released, when it was due to be implemented as a feature.

To add more fuel to the flickering flame Shenmue Dojo is reporting that Shenmue Online has been cancelled. Last year it looked pretty far in development, so this could be a sign that perhaps Sega have had second thoughts and are possibly thinking about continuing the story through single-player instead of telling it through an MMO. Then again, this could just be clutching at straws, but what's a Shenmue thread without a few leaps of logic, fantasy and the coup de grace of bitter disappointment eh? :P

Sorry Concept . Shenmue III isn't in development at all ( I could kill Kikizo for getting people's hopes up ages ago) . And Skies Is dead , so I hope people aren't getting thier hopes over that one either

While I feel you've quoted me out of context, as malc said, it's good to dream.

Is there any realistic chance of Shenmue happening? Not really.
