The 3DO version is superior to both the Dreamcast and Saturn versions, although the animation is not as good,it is still more faithful to the arcade in my opinion and woth owning a 3do for.

The Dreamcast version is the best by far!
Plus the 3DO pads suck...

I'm sure it's even harder than than the arcade version!
It makes all the other hardest settings for the other conversions of SSF2X seem flipping easy!
Well done though phillai on beating SSF2X on the hardest difficulty setting that does sound like quite an achievement

I did it with every character too (super versions included too) without losing a round and getting to Akuma and beating him!
Beating Akuma was so ****ing frustratingly hard - Especially with the **** characters... I must have been at it a month before I did it completely but it was well worth it as I unlocked all three versions of Akuma!
MUHAHAHA

I seriously struggle on the default difficulty setting
The game still plays just as well as it did all that time ago, right up there with the best of them

It's still a challenge and I'm sure the Dreamcast default settings is harder than the PSX/Saturn versions of SSF2X on the hardest setting!!!

Forget what they are saying here man,the 3DO version is the best,no matter what these guys try and tell you.Buy a cheap 3Donkey and see if I am right for yourself,it is the best conversion plus it is more faithful to the arcade than the dc version which seems to me to be harder and slightly faster.
Trip Hawkins version of the game is so so superior, these guys do not have a clue.Hhaahahhaahaha8)
Who's the man.......Nintendomad

hmm, I've been playing SSF2X FMS on the DC and SSF2T and SSF2X on Final Burn Alpha this past couple of hours (I'm trying to decide between getting a CPS2 board or the DC version).
Basically one thing bugs me. Were the sprites scaled down for the DC version? Cos the players look sorta "beefy" in the final burn versions and "skinny" in the DC version, or is it just me being a tit?

After playing the DC version through RGB (finally!) it's fairly noticable that most of the backgrounds have been made brighter for some reason. This really stands out with Sagat's and Fei Long's stages.
No problem though.
I'll be ordering the US version of SF collection for the PSOne. It's only for the car so it won't be that bad. Hopefully it'll look cool on the 5" screen and the loading times won't be all that bad.
Also looking at the KoF games for the PSOne.
