The combat was ooookay I guess, but the duel shootouts and precision aiming are a blast! Precision aiming is so precise too, I swear you could pierce someones ear.
Overall I really enjoyed that. It's a game I hadn't been following at all, but the over the top rail slides and set-pieces and overall quality of production has put this firmly on my radar. Only niggle would be why the bullet time turns the screen to a diahorrea shade of brown making it difficult to see enemies.

I really enjoyed the demo.
Seemed a bit awkward at first with the context sensitive action but after a few minutes once everythings clicked it gels together really well. great fun going to cover, leaning out and shooting a few dude, diving and staying prone rolling around on the floor capping kneecaps and watching the corpses smash through tables/chairs/watermelons etc die hard 1 style.
also the precision aim rocks - shoot a guy in the balls and wince, great animations - haven't had so much fun targeting body parts since goldeneye on n64!!
it is big dumb loud and repetitive but so is the source material, the awesome hard boiled.
graphics are fantastic, especially in the cut scenes. the bar scene raised a smile, awesome animations!
definetely a must buy for me

Finally got to try the demo and its not too shabby. I think I was expecting something astounding but got something good instead, which ain't bad! The graphics are nice but nothing special although the destructible environments are done very well. The gameplay is loud and over the top just how it was supposed to be I guess. I really liked the precision aiming and stand offs, two features implemented very well. All in all not bad, will be getting it when it is outLast edited by ezee ryder; 08-08-2007, 16:37.

Found it a little underwhelming; plays like a better Enter The Matrix with the Tequila mechanic, about it really. Destructable environments aren't too bad, with some nice little touches like being able to shoot huge signs down and explosive barrels, okay visuals, but I can see it wearing thin for me pretty quickly beyond the "stylistic" gun-play battles.
Precision aiming was good fun though! Definitely one to pick up when it's bargain basement, certainly not on the priority list here anymore.Last edited by Bleeders; 08-08-2007, 17:51.

the demo is a little disappointing for my liking. it's fun but i can't see any significant progress over the demo i played nearly a year ago at Leipzig GC. most of all i came to notice the poor animation and camera. the slow-motion mode in monochrome looks horrible and doesn't even highlight the enemies. the special abilities upgrade are nice. but that's about it. next-gen Max Payne? guess this is more likely to be fire and forget!

I liked this, it's next-gen max payne as has already been said. It wasn't until the demo finished that I realised how much fun I'd had playing it.
However, I won't be buying it straight away, I'll be waiting to get it second hand because for me, the game doesn't look to have enough variety to it. It was all a bit too action based if you know what I mean, but that could be just cos it's a demo and therefore you don't tend to be strategic about playing it. I can't pinpoint what's stopping me pre-ordering it...it almost felt a bit too simplistic in its gameplay...hmm, I dunno.
The other thing is that for some reason I'd got it in my head this was going to look simply astounding and because of that I found myself a litlte disappointed by the visuals.
The precision ball-shot is fun though and I absolutely LOVED the cut-scene in the bar, especially the table/shooting bit.Last edited by Jebus; 08-08-2007, 19:11.
