In fairness, that's the correct way of handling it, and works great for DC too.

Doesn't seem to be much in the way of answers going about here so I'll post my experience of one of these - they're ace. Got one for my NTSC-J Wii, connected to a 24" Samsung WS Monitor and it looks absolutely lovely. No problem with any Wii or VC games. Not tried GC but am under the impression most if not all games will support progressive, and therefore work.

I don't have any pictures comparing to component, but I'm guessing that it will look better on the majority of HDTVs, as they tend to mess around with 480p signals quite a bit, and VGA will bypass that.
Even just getting rid of overscan makes a difference to how sharp things look at that low resolution.

IMO (not an expert opinion mind you) they look absolutely fine.
Games-wise I currently have Contra Spirits, Super Castlevania IV, Devil Crash, Twinbee, Treasure Hunter G, Bare Knuckle, and Assaults Suit Valken. So, only three consoles worth. Can take screenshots of them in action if you want?

Mine arrived after about a week - think I had to sign for it as well.
Picture quality is pretty good though I’m not sure if it's down to my new monitor or the cable. I’ve got some pics of it knocking about somewhere, I’ll put them up if I can find them.Last edited by Kit; 06-03-2008, 12:26.

Some random VC pics:
Genesis stuff tends to look the best, as it's unfiltered, all the other systems have various issues. (SNES is filtered, N64/NES look really dull, TG-16 is heavily filtered etc)
Any lines on the pictures are caused by my camera, not the cable/screen.
EDIT: Re-uploading the pics now. Forgot that Lightroom automatically does a bad job of sharpening the pics when exporting which make them look a bit worse. These ones haven't been straightened though.
EDIT2: Done.Last edited by andrewfee; 06-03-2008, 13:48.
