It's great to be able to discuss these podcasts. I wasn't sure if anyone listened to them here, although I might've missed an official thread somewhere.

There was a recent GFW show where Shawn talked about Second Life & griefing (is that the right word) & it had me in stitches. I listened to it three times. His stories are very long though, but they never fail to amuse me. I did think though that he wasn't leaving GFW, as he is GFW if that makes sense.

I can't get on with Garnett as he says so many pointless things. He can ramble on for agggeeees at times about stuff that everyone already knows about. Like the recent one where they were talking about Army of Two and he decided the listeners need to be reminded about how the agro system works. Booooorrrrriiiiing!

John could come across as slightly dispassionate at times, but like Simon he is clearly a really intelligent guy and made some really interesting points that you'd never heard before. His monologues were usually on a really salient point that everyone else had missed.

Mark was really good too. The fact that they still quote him says a lot.

Future itself isn't in a good financial shape either, judging from the regular money saving memos that do the rounds.

Little vid of Mr Elliot from GFW 'griefing' in TF as his fictitious character Ralphie.

          Love that voice.

If you want a laugh and can't be bothered to download them hit youtube for ' GFW heros of the web ' .. theres some great ones taken from the shows.

Totally agree with this, but I think as Reektan said he just needs to get used to the flow. 1upyours has a very fast 'in and out' BOOM type flow to it, whereas GFW is more sedate and everyone gets their turn to speak. I love the contrast of both.

I think it's more that he's very very focused on the PC, which 1Up Yours doesn't really cover to any great extent. He's by far my favourite member of the 1Up team though (Him and Jeff Green... which is bizarre as I'm not into PC gaming at all at the moment), I just really enjoy listening to him talking about games.

                Very good point.

Jeff Green is a legend. As is Garnett. I'd marry Garnett.

He did start out on EGM originally and does actually know a thing or two on the console side. Like many have said I think he just needs some time to settle in and for the rest to understand how to play off him etc.

If N'gai turns up again anytime soon i'll have to cut myself though.

Ditto. The only thing I play on my PC is Peggle, but I can listen to the GFW podcast quite happily & still get a lot out of it.

I can't quite make up my mind about him. Sometimes I enjoy listening to him & other times I just zone out.

N'Gai is annoying, why does he have to refer every single point of a particular game to a movie director or cinematographer. Judging from his knowledge he should be reviewing and talking about films instead.

Yep, and preferrably not in my ears while I try to fall asleep to men talking.

I love the podcasts and show they produce and have been listening/watching them for years now. I can't remember how I got into them...

GFW makes me smile and laugh while I'm out on my lunchbreak! and is my favourite now.
1Up Yours isn't the same now John and Luke have left. Mark was a good 4th person but everyone is leaving now and we all know why now.

They still have some good discussions though, I agree that some good folk have left mind. John was awesome (where did he go?).

I haven't tried GFW podcast, might try it over weekend.

                            New 1upshow is out.
